"Okay everyone stand up and go back to your classes when your teacher leads you out." Ms Roaderach
"What about break? We need fresh air!" One student called out
"Are you stupid? Everyone needs to stay in the building until we sort this out!" She replied "Teachers can you please be extra careful and make sure all of your students are with you at all times. We will be sending out extra registers which you will have to do every hour."
All the classes except year 7 stumbled out of the assembly hall.
Mr Clawson started to speak "As you guys are the oldest you will be in charge of the younger students, year 6 will be helping as well but they will have less dangerous jobs. Each of you will be helping gathering weapons, bordering up doors and windows or keeping the younger ones calm. Obviously you do have a choice of what you do but we need to do the bordering and weapon collecting very soon!"
"What about food?" Someone questioned "Do we have any? Who will look after it?"
"Ah yes food." He clapped his hands together "Its lucky that we had a mass delivery come in this morning for hot school meal people, we will be sharing it equally with the school. Obviously lots of you have packed lunches, I advice you only eat when you need to! We don't know how long we could be here."
He scanned the room looking at every individual person."Is there anyone who deffintly doesn't want to help do the dangerous stuff?"
Two girls who were sat together put there hands up.
"Okay you two go with Miss Roman to year 3, it will be your job to check on every class every hour, we'll make a timetable later." He beckoned them out of the hall "As for the rest of you, first we will be on the search for items to border up the entire school! Any ideas? Just about them out."
"There might be a hammer and nails in the caretakers cupboard."
"Ah has good!" He said as he got out a pen and started to write on a desk that he had stood up to face everyone.
"We could use the wood of the table to border up the school, and the metal bits as weapons!"
"Brilliant! Everyone get in groups of at least three, do not leave each other. Make sure you have someone with the time on them, if you want go and get your phones when I let your group out. I expect you to meet me back in the class room at 12 o' clock! The back bench go into each classroom and take 2 or three tables out and put them in front of the closest exits!"
They quickly shuffled out of the hall and split up into small groups.
"The right bench you will go with the caretaker and look for tools like hammers and screwdrivers, if you gat any good ideas while out there write them down on your hand or something, off you go."
They scurried out, quietly talking and sharing ideas.
"Left bench, half of you will come with me and half of you will go with Ms Roaderach. You will be looking for weapons, food and any other resources."
Everyone stood up and were split into two groups.
"Misses group go out that way, we'll go out here, see you later."
They all left the room. Mr Clawsons group passed a small group carrying tables into the hall. "Good work kids!"
He looked terrified.
