Time tickled the night bells that resounded in the sky. A flock of birds scattered in the air, frightened by the ear piercing sound. The people below payed no heed to any of the happenings, deeming it as normal and acted indifferent.
A single silhouette looked out of place at the tip of a nearby tower. Her glistening gold eyes casually scanned over the ant-like humans who were oblivious of their surroundings.
She held her breathe and muttered a wish. But her wish was soon proved inevident as her lips slowly turned into a frown. She sighed inwardly and finally admitted of her lost hopes.
"Will I fail to find him again in this lifetime?" The celestial spirit moped, her teeth sinked slighty into her bottom lip.
A sudden breeze came by, making her clothes flutter in the air. Her figure looked both so delicate and refined, so still and doll-like. But in the next second, her face contoured and she hugged her arms tight.
"It's so cold..." her nose snifled. She regretted coming onto a high a place when it was almost winter. Though she was an immortal, she wasn't exactly immune to sickness. It frustrated her.
She looked down and examined the town square from above. Reflected on her eyes were a pair of bright orange flames. She expressed a childish smile, her mood enlightened.
"I found you..." her feet stepped lightly onto the roof tiles. Like a feather, she gracefully climbed down from the building and landed softly onto the ground. Despite her extraordinary performance, not a single person glanced her way.
She used neither power nor magic. She was in her human form. But that also proved how powerful she was if she were in her original embodiment.
She walked towards where her eyes feasted upon. With every step she took, she felt warmth engulf her body. Her chest felt great relief.
Her feet halted. She stretched her arms forward, feeling the heat from the palm of her hands. She no longer shivered of the cold.
In front of her was a great bonfire. Along with other humans who were attracted to the orange flare, just like bugs.
The current temperature was below zero, it was a chilly night. It looks like the people cared for their own, they placed huge stacked logs in the middle of town and created a source of heat. The dancing flames illuminated the surroundings, making the area look festive.
The spirit rubbed her reddened nose. "Aah, this is the best." She sighed as white mist appeared before her breath.
She let herself indulge happily in the warmth. She closed her eyes and imagined what would happen when "they" would meet.
"I miss you. But it looks like you aren't here. I'll have to look for you again in a different town tomorrow." The celestial being muttered under her breath.
?!
Suddenly, a memory popped out where in their last lifetime they were extremely intimate. The spirit's face brightened in red. In embarassment, she shook her head and slapped her cheeks. "What am I thinking?!"
The people passing by gave strange looks towards the peculiar lady. Though she was beautiful, they hesitated being near her and so distanced themselves.
