What's this? A second chapter? In my finished story?
It's more likely than you think...
*cough*
Replaced is and will always be a oneshot like I intended it to, so everything beyond Chapter 1 is purely in-universe expansion.
Cool? Cool.
Down the rabbit hole we go...

The small, confining space he'd gotten to know as the 'studio of dolls' had grown a lot since Jesse had last seen it.
Admittedly, that memory went all the way back to his early childhood when he'd been about six or seven and had lived with his parents in the inner city, but looking at it now he couldn't help but gape in awe at the studio.
It looked beautifully clean and polished, contrary to what it had been like before with its crumbling facade and dirty shop-windows.
Speaking of, there was a lot of care and love poured into these windows in general, there was a great deal of cute origami flowers spread out and the dolls all had their own knitted blanket to sit on.
He drew nearer, smiling to himself as all the memories that were tied to this place resurfaced.
He almost expected a child version of himself to come running out of the studio as he approached it, but nothing happened.
Nostalgia overcame him the moment his hand touched the handle of the door and for a minute or two he even struggled with his tears, yet he collected himself and entered the studio, causing a bell over the door to announce his presence.
The interior hadn't changed at all - the table for customers was still in the corner, the idyllic pictures of landscapes on the wall hadn't been moved at all these last years and the row of dolls being presented on another table was the same as well.
Well, not the same dolls of course, but they were propped up in a similar manner as to what Jesse remembered.
Since there was much more space inside now, the room seemed less crowded and more inviting to customers like the family that was already in here.
''Can I have this one?'', a little girl asked, plucking at her father's clothing to get his attention. She was pressing a female doll with dark blond hair and hazel eyes to her chest tightly and Jesse could sense the affection between the two already.
This girl reminded him a lot of himself, he had reacted in a similar manner after having set his sight on Jaden.
''Sweetie, I don't think your mother would like that, you know how much she despises dolls.''
The little girl teared up. ''But she said she wants to come home with me! Please, daddy!''
Her father sighed, but already reached for his wallet which didn't go by unnoticed by the girl who beamed at him happily.
