🍓4 Years Later...🍓

"I'll eat all the cupcakes before you do!"

"What! No, you can't! I'll eat them before you!"

"But I run faster!"

I reach for the limosuine door and nearly have my face bashed in when my little twin brother and sister come bursting out of the backseat to race for the bakery's front door. They'd been begging me to take them after daycare for ages. It was harder to pick them up and take them to the Matsuoka Bakery around my busy modeling schedule, but what can you do? Big sister has to spoil the twins, I suppose!

"Honestly," I say as I shut the door behind them, chuckling, "Mom and Dad aren't even that busy. Why do they always leave me to take care of you little brats!"

Yes, I had just referred to my step-mother as mom. When the kids were born, it was apparent how attached to me they were going to become. They mimicked everything I did for whatever reason, and that included my speech. Nobody wants their pre-schooler calling their parents by their first name. So, I got used to calling her "mother."

Plus, I thought it was about time.

Chisame and my father had given birth to twins — a boy named Ame and a girl named Sora. They were both 4 years old now and though very little, they were a lot to take care of and super rowdy with big personalities. Sometimes they didn't listen to my parents and would throw tantrums every chance they got, but, for some reason, they straightened up and behaved if I was involved in scolding them. Most likely why our parents always dumped them on me when it was time to pick them up since they turn getting into their car seats into wrestle mania.

In the passed 4 years, my life had really come together in an even better way than I could have imagined. I became a big sister, started modeling and became a freakin' celebrity and beauty queen , graduated from high school, and got proposed to by you know who while I was accepting my diploma. I asked Hajime why he'd proposed during a graduation ceremony instead of somewhere cute and his exact words were, and I quote, I kid you not:

🤷🏼‍♂️"My last chance to be an attention whore."

The two of us got married within only a few months of being engaged and moved into this super fancy but super cozy loft apartment that had this gorgeous beach view...Hajime had officially taken over the family bakery and worked there almost everyday now. I loved seeing him live his dream and pursue his passion.

After a few months of attempting to grow my hair out, I chopped it right back off! I was now rocking a short hairstyle that I absolutely adored. I didn't see myself growing my hair back out anytime soon. I felt so much more mature this way!

I step into the bakery, breathing in the incredible scent of freshly baked goods and desserts. Hajime smelled this way 24/7...I couldn't get enough of it, to be honest. My heart started to skip a beat whenever I heard the oven ding!

I'm not surprised to see my parents and Hajime's sitting at a table inside together. The bakery closed early today since it was the weekend, but Hajime left it open just for friends and family and we all liked to come and sit down for a chat after work and school every once in awhile.

Shortly after Hajime had I had officially become boyfriend and girlfriend, he introduced me to his parents. His mother was warm and welcoming and still treated Hajime like a child, even as mature as he was. It was refreshing to see them interact. And his father , as stern as Hajime made him out to be, was a very kind man who welcomed me into the family with open arms. He thanked me the first time we met for leading Hajime to open his eyes and respect his passion.
