See me

I wonder if you've ever seen me
Not the physical me
The me you can't touch with your hands
The one you can feel with an exchange of words
You may not know, but I take in everything
Any glance, or whisper I take it in
As I store it in the depths of my mind
You may think of it as playful banter
But I may think of it as the end of the world
Don't blame yourself for my faulty emotions
The tears are not cause of you
That's what I say to myself anyway
They're not of pain but of understanding
That I'm nothing in your eyes
I could stand right in front of you holding a sign that said "I like you"
But you would look past, as if you couldn't see me

Sorry it's not a rhyme, but I think as long as a poem can connect to you that's good enough.
