CHARLOTTE'S POV
I stand in front of the entrance to the ICU waiting for Ethan. I look at the box I held close to my chest. "I hope this helps." I whisper to myself when I felt a hand suddenly on my back. I jump and I am faced with Ethan. I put the box down gently and brought him into a hug. I might be mad at Ethan, but I know how much Grayson means to him. My shoulder started to become damp with his tears, as he released his feelings. I pull apart from him and look him in his deep green eyes, that are only visible when he's upset. "He's going to be fine. I promise." We both knew I could not promise that, but just the false sense of hope is enough to help. "Thank you." He said barely above a whisper. I nodded and picked the box off of the ground, and we proceeded to go into the ICU. We walk up to the desk and see the receptionist. "We are here for Grayson Dolan." She looked up at us. "Are you Ethan Dolan?" Ethan nodded and she said, "Hello Ethan, I am Victoria. We spoke on the phone. Do you mind if we talk in the hall?" We both look at each other, and I nodded that it was okay to go. He looked back at Victoria and nodded. I stood in the hall and looked at the box. I come to the conclusion that I can't wait anymore. I walk around the ICU, until I found his room. I look in through the glass door and see his eyes closed. He was hooked up to many machines and had gauze wrapped around his head. I open the door slowly, and I start to hear his heart machine give a constant beeping sound.
The door makes a click sound as it completely shuts. I look at Grayson and I notice that his eyes are starting to open. I walk over to the side of the bed while he wakes up fully and follows me with his eyes. He rolled his eyes at me and shook his head. I sigh and speak up, "Hey, I know you don't want to see me, but I have something for you." He turned his head back to me and looked at me confused. I pull out the box and place it on his lap. He tries to sit up, but I stop him with my hands when I see him wince in pain. "I can open it for you." He nodded, while I slowly opened the lock box. He stops me from pulling anything out, and I back away from him. He slowly pulls out his favorite picture of him and his family. Tears start to well up in his eyes, as he puts down the picture and pulls out the next item. It was a lens cap from his first camera. He placed it down, as he pulled out a medal from his first wrestling match. As he was about to put everything back, his hand brushed against the note I left him. He looked at it confused, as he pulled it out. He opened it and his tears started to pour down his cheeks. "Grayson, what's wrong?" I say as he threw the letter on the ground. He through the lock box next to the letter, and started to hit his head. I run over to all of the stuff to make sure nothing was broken. I safely put the box on the chair in the room. "Gray, stop hitting yourself! What is wrong?" I say as I grab his hands. He looked up at me with red eyes filled with tears. He shook his head, and I wiped his tears. "Babe, what is it?"
"He can't talk...or read... That is why he is upset." We both jump as we see Ethan just inside the door. "What?" Ethan looked down at his feet as he said, "Chars, can I talk to you for a second in the hall?"
