The world is a horrid place, frankly one that should be destroyed. The Earth's inhabitants have spiraled out of control, crime laid waste to society, and women and children have been defiled in such cruel ways. That is why... That is why the world should end.
One morning, Claire awoke on a bench outside of a cafe a few blocks from her one room apartment. Claire looked around, and all she could see was the cafe burning to the ground and all of the nature already dissolved with black char being left behind. Claire ran out into the street, then she noticed a large holographic countdown in the sky above her, the clock read one hour. Claire ran to her apartment only to be stopped by a strange man that reeked of alcohol. The man approached her saying, "How was last night, I know you were sleeping, but I still think you felt every bit of it." Claire's eyes opened wide as she struggled to keep in her stomach, she backed up sluggishly and tried to run away, but to no avail. The man pulled out a nail-gun and shot at Claire's ankles. He managed to pin Claire's left foot to the grass path she was on, one person can only take so much.
The man climbed on top of her and began ripping at her clothes, but he had no need to try, she had already given up fighting and accepted her fate. He struggled down to the hew of her dress, but was stopped before he could do anything to Claire. Another man came from the side and impaled Claire's stalker's head with a power drill, which he proceeded to turn on, effectively turning the stalker's head into a watermelon. The man helped Claire up saying, "Are you okay, my name is Aaron, sorry that I could not save you sooner." Claire proceeded in asking, "Why did you help me? What do you want from me? Are you after my body just like he was?" Aaron was a little offended by what Claire said, but he verified that his intentions were pure. Aaron and Claire began heading down the street to a safe-room that Aaron had built to house the wounded and the helpless. Once they had gotten to the safe-room, Claire asked Aaron to verify what was actually in the room before she went in with him, and so Aaron proved the room was indeed a safe-room by opening the door and showing all of the elderly people, the children, and the women... This was the first sign, but Claire had not been able to notice the warning.
Claire walked right on into the safe-room, and the other people there started to applaud. Claire asked Aaron, "What is the countdown for?" Aaron put his right hand on the back of his neck and responded with a somber expression taking over his aura, "The countdown is how much time we have left to live. The became too corrupt, so the governments of the world agreed to allow ten men and women from each nation across the world to live, anyone outside of those ten... D-I-E." Claire backed up slowly and fell to the ground with an overwhelming feeling of weakness that prevented her from moving at all. She mustered the strength to utter only a word, "Why?" Aaron hid a gruesome smile and put on a worried face, "Only 20 people can live, and you are not one of them. Excuse me, but I need to go help others, I am not sure yet if I can stop the countdown, but I know I can at least save some people for right now." After Aaron had said this, he left the room and went out to find more people, but when he had left the building and was a ways away, he broke down into sadistic laughter. Overcome by blood-lust, he proceeded to find people with a pair of wireless electric grass shears. Aaron ran frantically down the street, and those who got in his way received a quick slice to their stomachs, which made all of their organs spill out into an abundance of gore and blood, but Aaron loved it, Aaron bathed in it.
Aaron finally found another person who was being attacked, the man had two broken legs, so he was an easy target. Aaron ran up to the attacker and swiftly diced his body to shreds. First Aaron struck the attacker's legs, which instantly severed his legs, next he severed the arms, causing the same to happen, thirdly, Aaron took out his anger on the attacker's chest and struck the attacker's chest time and time again until every last drop of blood had left the attacker's body. Aaron proceeded to help the injured man back into his wheelchair, but the man had been scared so desperately of Aaron. The man was completely covered in the attacker's blood and was unable to speak, so Aaron just wheeled him on down to the safe-room. When they had arrived, Claire had backed up into a corner and refused to talk to anyone, so Aaron approached her and tried to speak to her, but she pushed him away. Claire's eyes were blank, her face was empty, her hands trembled, her body shook, her hair was frayed, but most importantly, her heart was frail.
Once in a lifetime, just once, just once...
Claire was terrified, Aaron was clueless, then he realized, he took a woman with silky black hair, a truly beautiful woman. Aaron took her out of the safe-room, when he came back she was not with him. Claire shook violently and tried to escape the safe-room. Aaron became irate, however, he did not go after her, but rather shouted out to her, "You should already know what happens in the outside world. Why do you cling to suffering so desperately?"
The holographic countdown in the sky reached 37 minutes remaining...
Claire struggled hopelessly through the streets, and that is when she had realized that she had been followed. She turned around to see the man in the wheelchair, who said, "Why did you leave? Aaron is such a kind man, so much so that he considered that you might not want to come back if he were to come and get you, so he sent me to get you." Claire looked at the man in the wheelchair then continued running down the crime-laden street. Then the man in the wheelchair screamed out, "Why do you run, I do not see anything to suggest that Aaron is a terrible person. Oh yeah, my name is Troy."
