Temari's Rival

Meeting Shikamaru

     Three days and lots of breaks later, we arrive at the Hidden Leaf Village. The first thing i notice is that everybody looks very friendly, I can't wait to go in.

     "This is the Hidden Leaf Village Yui. Come on and meet my friend." We walk all the way across the Village to a small house that hasn't been cleaned for a while, someone must be lazy. Temari knocks on the door but no one answers. She tries again but the same response. "Huh, he must be sleeping as it is only 11. We'll come back in an hour."

     She leads me to a small ramen shop where inside a blonde, spiky haired, loudmouth kid assures me that it is 'the best ramen in the village' so I order the miso ramen and boy is it great. "See, I told ya. By the way my name's Naruto and I'm going to become Hokage one day!" "Uh.. Hi Naruto, my name is Yui." "Nice to meet you, are you from the sand village?" He says looking at my self-made sand village belt. "Yes, it is my first time coming here so I'm super excited." "Well who wouldn't be excited to come to a great village and eat the best ramen around?" I smile politely. As soon as I finish I say goodbye to Naruto and bump into a guy with a puppy on his head.

    "Hello, your puppy is so cute. C-could I pat him?" "Sure, my name's Kiba and this is Akamaru." He lifts him of his head gently and I pat his super soft fur which instantly makes me fall in love with him. "He's soft isn't he?" "Ye-yeah." "Come on Yui, stop patting dogs we've got to go." "Bye Akamaru. You too Kiba." Temari leads me back to the same house, this time someone answers. "Oh it's you Temari." The guy says yawning. I look to see who it is and I nearly faint. I don't know what it is but there's something about him that I like, a lot. "Hey Shikamaru, I want you to meet Yui. It is her first time out of the sand village." "Hello Yui." He says holding his hand out. "Um, h-hi S-Shikamaru." I reach my hand out to slowly meet his and I almost don't let go. "I'll let you get back to sleep Shikamaru." Temari says as we leave.

     "Temari... Are you with Shikamaru?" "Not exactly." "Oh, well I kind of like him." I tell her. She stops walking with a shocked expression on her face. "Excuse me? You like him, how?" "I like him like its love at first sight." I admit while spinning around. She keeps walking even with me not following. "Temari. Are you jealous?" "Of course not!" "You sound jealous." "I'M NOT!" "Fine then... Do you think I have a chance?" She didn't answer.
