Quick note:

Most of the POV's in the story is Raizel's POV. So if I don't put any specifics, then assume it is Raizel's POV. Okay? Oh yeah, I'm gonna try to put myself in Raizel's shoes but if ever I can't, well, I hope you guys understand. Moving on....

~•~

I woke up in a strange room. It was empty and I sense no presence nearby. I stepped out of my coffin and noticed a curtain covering a window. With a flick of my hand, the curtain opened along with the windows.

I looked down and was internally bewildered at the sight. This was not Lukedonia, nor was this any town near Lukedonia. People were wearing strange clothes and moving objects were going back and forth with people inside them.

As I observed the people below, I noticed a particular clothing that caught my interest. It was worn by a couple of children.

I decided to change my clothing and in just a blink of an eye, the fabric of my clothes "burned" and the same clothing worn by those children took its place, save for the cravat.

I went down and walked among them, not really knowing where I am going.

They were talking about things like "assignments" or "pop quiz" and other strange words.

How long was I asleep?

Then I noticed that some of them were running until almost all of them are. I remained at the pace that I was in until a boy with bright orange hair yelled to me, "If you don't run, you're going to be late. He's guarding the gate today!"

Having no idea what he just said, I merely stared at him as he ran at full speed.

It would seem that there is a person who punishes children for being late. He scolds a few of them who got caught and had the orange headed boy run a great distance for some reason.

By the time he noticed me, everyone was already heading towards the place they call "class". He looked confused, saying that I might be a transfer student, whatever that means.

The orange boy arrived and both of them agreed that I must be a transfer student and should be taken to the Director, well the orange headed boy take me to be more precise.

Sighing, the boy motioned me to follow him which I did. He led me in front of a white door and had me wait a bit as he informs the Director of our arrival.

This "Director" has a presence that is familiar to me.

"Go on in. I have to go. I'm already late." The boy said before sprinting away, leaving me to myself.

When I entered the room, Frankenstein was sitting on what seems to be a table. He lifted his head and his eyes widened when his eyes landed on me.

"It's been a while, Frankenstein." I spoke.

"Master..." He mumbled.

I sat down on one of the white couches nearby and he stood beside me.

"How have you been master?" He asked.

"I've recently awoken," I answered, which seemed to startle him. "Oh." He replied

"How long have I been asleep?"

"The time your hibernation began is unknown, but you have not shown yourself to us for the last 820 years."

"820 years..." I muttered. He continued, "Over the centuries, we sought to discover your whereabouts, but in our incompetence, we could not find any clues." He bowed his head, "I'm sorry."

I still couldn't wrap my head around the situation a bit so I wasn't really paying any attention, "I've been asleep.....for a very long time."

Frankenstein looked at me sadly before walking towards his table and pouring what he told me later on as "tea". The word was rang a familiar tone as it left his mouth.

Gracefully, I took the cup and brought it to my lips. It's good.

"Are you adjusting with the language here?" Frankenstein asked, "I can't help but worry since you've been asleep for so long..."

I replied, "There's nothing wrong with my abilities. I'll get used to it, as always."

"That's a relief." Frankenstein said.

There was silence for a short while until I remembered what had happened to me just now.

"The gate guard was impressive." I told him. He laughed. "Did you become a clan leader during my absence?" I asked him. Since he is what people here call the Director, this would mean that he is the leader of the place.

He replied, "No this place is called 'school', a place to guide and mentor children."

"School..." I muttered.

It would seem that during the time I was asleep, humankind had improved drastically. It felt strange that I was already behind the times.

"I suppose I should look into all the changes that have taken in the world during my absence." I told him, putting down the empty teacup.

"I'll make the proper arrangements so that you won't face any difficulties, master." Frankenstein bowed.

Frankenstein's POV

As I took care of Master's paperwork to get him properly enrolled in my school, I noticed that he failed to mention a specific person.

When the master disappeared, she and I did everything we could to find him together until she decided that she will do some searching on her own.

"Wouldn't it be better if we find him together?" I told her, not really liking the idea of us separating.

She shook her head, "I know. But this isn't just about finding him." She looked up to the starry night and continued, "I lost not just one important person that day but three. I have been miserable since then. Miserable because I was supposed to be the strongest clan leader in all of Lukedonia, but even with all that bravado I couldn't save Ashleen."

Something trailed down from her eyes to her cheeks. She's finally crying. I looked at her with sadness in my eyes as she continued.

"I saw her death. I saw it. It came to me as a vision but I didn't do anything." She sobbed, "I---I could've done something and the whole Muzaka versus Raizel thing wouldn't have happened."

"It's all my fault..."

I haven't received any word from her ever since then. I thought that perhaps she has her own demons to settle and I shouldn't interfere. I know that she knows that I'll always be here when she needs me. But there are just some things that even I can't fix.

I looked up and saw Master looking at a particular feather-pen that I framed and placed on the cabinet near the couch.

"She gave me that." I told him, "She said that it reminded her of me so she gave it to me. Ever since you disappeared, followed by her, I thought of it as a goodluck charm." I took the frame next to it and handed it to the master, "She told me that she was supposed to give this to you the moment both of you returned from your visit....but she never had the chance."

I stared at the master and thought that he was going to ask me where she was or how she is but what he said next gave me a very, very horrible feeling.

"Who is this 'she' you are speaking of?"
