Chapter 5

[3rd Person's POV]

Ikhan, Shinwoo and Rai are walking back to their respective homes after a long day at school and a quick detour to the computer shop. Shinwoo was whining why he kept on losing to Ikhan, which the smaller boy replied, "Shinwoo, it's funny how you even dream about beating me at games."

"Yeah, yeah."

Ikhan turned to Rai, who was quietly walking beside them, "Let's play together next time."

Shinwoo nodded in agreement, "Yeah, what he said. What's up with just sitting there and watching us play for hours?"

"..."

Shinwoo added, "If you don't know how to play, I'll teach you."

Ikhan snorted, "Yeah. With your short temper I'm sure you'll make a great teacher." Shinwoo replied, "Hmph."

He was about to say something else when they heard a familiar voice scream in absolute terror.

"Kyaaaa!"

What...What was that?" Ikhan asked. But apparently no one could answer him because Shinwoo already disappeared and Rai was...well, just quiet.

Shinwoo dashed to the place where the scream came from. That voice...could it be?

He ran as fast as his two legs could carry him. Maybe he should be thankful to all of the times he had to run to the gate to avoid getting caught by Mr Park.

When he arrived, it was definitely the person he had thought the voice belonged to.

"Yoona!"

Shinwoo immediately sprinted towards the man whose one hand was holding her hand and the other in the air. He jumped and collided his feet with the man's face, "Hey! Are you out of your mind?"

Regardless if it was because Shinwoo's kick was really powerful or the man didn't expect to be attacked at such force, the man crashed into nearby garbage dumpsters.

"Yoona!" A voice from behind exclaimed, "Are you alright?" It was Ikhan. The boy immediately went out to search for his companion when he disappeared right after they heard the scream. Despite still in shock Yoona was able to reply, "Y-Yeah."

The concerned look on Shinwoo's face didn't escape Ikhan's notice. To ease his friend's (?) worries, he assured him that she's not hurt. Shinwoo blinked and gave a small smile, "Y-Yeah"

He then attempted to help Yoona stand up along with Ikhan, "Yoona, try standing up slowly."

Rai, on the other hand, stared at the man who was trying to stand up after being kicked by Shinwoo. Shinwoo, hearing the man growl, turned around and was baffled.

"What is up with that guy?" He said, "I know I didn't miss that kick."

The man staggered to stand and growled at the children (Rai doesn't count but he's included in the group).

"Shinwoo," Yoona called out with a trembling voice, "There's something wrong with him. Like Ikhan said, he's not normal."

Shinwoo grit his teeth. He looked around and saw a trash bin standing beside him. He lifted it up and threw it at the man straight in the face. Seeing this moment as an opportunity for escape, he yelled at his classmates to run. Rai, despite Shinwoo and the others already trying to leave the alley, stood and stared at the man.
