A/N: This chapter takes place
a day before game night.p.s.
— This is officially the LONGEST chapter I've written for TST and I'm dumb proud of myself right now 🙌🏿
Enjoy my loves 💕Chapter Seventeen
"Little girl." I groaned, waking up to Aubrey's feet in my face. Even in a king sized bed, she always found a way to end up toppled over me.
Sitting up, I managed to pick her up and place her beside me without interrupting her sleep. I knew better not to wake her before her body woke up on its own. Like her mother, she had a mouth on her and I was not trying to deal with it at 8 AM.
Sliding out of bed I made my way downstairs and started on breakfast. With things taking off at the shop it felt like I barely had time for anything outside of Redemption Ink and I wasn't too sure how I felt about that honestly. If it was one thing I cherished outside of my craft it was my faith and family and lately I had been slacking on both. I was dedicating the day to myself and of course my favorite person. Keeping baby girl from day care would probably run me crazy and my pockets dry, but I couldn't wait to spend some time with my little lady.
Raiding the kitchen I decided on French toast, scrambled eggs, and a pineapple smoothie.
Hitting shuffle on my phone, I nodded my head as Dave East's No Pork blared through out the kitchen.
You not a boss, niggas still sending you to get a drink
I told Mack, empty that shit if you see a nigga blink
Was sellin' grams, but Cam had me wantin' to go and get it pink.
"That nigga nice." My face held a scowl while I listened to his word play.
Stirring the cinnamon, vanilla, milk, and egg batter together I let it sit and blend before coating the bread slices.
"You showing out today." Smirking to myself I placed the bread into the sizzling skillet, watching it pop.
Hearing the music fade out, I went to to grab my phone seeing I had an incoming FaceTime call.
"Good morning beautiful." I licked my lips, my eyes wandering as she laid sprawled out in bed in only a
t-shirt."Good morning handsome." She smiled, her cheeks flustered.
"You look comfortable." My eyes remained on her while she cuddled her comely body into a grey body pillow.
"I am, this is my first day off in months." Kobi yawned, pushing her brown framed glasses up to sit her nose.
"That hard work paying off mama." I commended her. Kobi was a hustler when it came to her money. On top of owning her own dance studio she was working on writing a children's book dedicated to her daughter. If it was one thing we clicked on, it was the hustle and parenthood. She was a single mother doing it on her own and I honestly didn't understand how. If she wasn't dropping and picking up Maya from daycare she was taking her to gymnastics or teaching ballet classes or attending writing seminars —— she was the definition of a superwoman.
