Naruto POV

After the others finally came down and Hina had woken up we all had a late lunch before we separated to do different things, I needed to head to old mans farm to check up and drop off some food that I bought last night, so Sasuke decided to come with me while Itachi stayed close to the girls, I don't think he's going to relax for awhile until the fire dies down I just shrugged my shoulders at him and left, it didn't take us long to help the old man out and within an hour we were already on our way back home, it was perfect timing too because as we were leaving the farm the wind started picking up strength so I knew we needed to get back sooner rather than later, we managed to get home not long after the rain started, unfortunately we were already pretty soaked through at this point "there you both are, we were so worried" Aoi called out from the door, I nodded my head slowly and replied "we thought we would be back in time before it started" before she pulled a few towels out of the cupboard

"Thank you" I heard Sasuke mutter to her causing me to smiled softly "nii-san" I heard Hina shout before I felt her body slam into mine "have you had a nice time with your mum and dad" I asked trying to dry myself but she wouldn't let me go, I frowned because this wasn't like her "what's wrong sweetheart" I whispered kneeling down so I was at her level "I was worried that you both got hurt" she answered and it was then that I found out she was crying "hey now, we're both alright" I said softly pulling her into my arms as I felt Sasuke come up behind her and placed a hand on her head, we stayed there for a few minutes before I saw Sasuke shiver I stood up and placed the now sleeping Hina into her father's arms as I dragged Sasuke upstairs "come on your going to freeze to death if you don't get warm" I muttered when he sent me a confused look  

"Aren't you cold" he questioned slowly I shook my head "no, having fluffy makes my body run like a furnace so I'm not able to get a cold that easily" I replied as I helped him out of his clothes, now normally if given this opportunity I would take a look at his body but his shivers made me realise that now isn't the right time for that, when he stepped out of the shower I was already in dry clothes and waiting for him on his bed, laying back with my eyes closed it wasn't to give him some privacy even if it looked like that it was to stop me from jumping on him and claiming him as mine because even though I don't like to admit it we're not ready for that step yet so I'm trying to keep myself in check "what are you thinking about" I heard him whisper I already felt him lay down beside me "nothing important" I answered not wanting to tell him what I really was thinking about

"How long does the storms normally last for" he asked after we had been quiet for nearly 10 minutes I hummed in a thinking manner "sometimes they only last two/three days at the most but this one doesn't seem that strong so maybe one/two days, we've got enough food to last awhile anyway so don't worry" I said thinking about the extra storage of food/clothes/blankets and other items that we might need if this doesn't stop within the next week but I actually don't think it will last that long so there's no point telling them that "it's nice being like this with you" he muttered into my ear as he moved closer to my body, I turned on my side facing him and to see he's already looking at me "it does feel nice to not be fighting with you anymore" I answered staring into his onyx eyes "same here" he mumbled as he leaned in and kissed me so gently that I thought I'd imagined it but when I looked into his eyes I knew I hadn't because for the first time since I've known him, his eyes shined brightly with contentment

I smiled at him but instead of a small smile it was much bigger and as I watched his eyes slowly close with exhaustion I thought about what we've been through over the years and yeah in some cases it was extremely hard and I often wondered if it will ever get better and I'm sure somewhere in Sasuke mind he thought the same thing as well but as I mentioned to Sasuke the night before maybe we had to go through that to finally understand and appreciate what we have now and actually want to keep it, I gently moved a piece of his hair out of his eyes and it made me realise that I would do it all over again just as long as I had him by my side
