There were two entrances into Rae North's apartment in the theater. One was the door, the other was the tall warehouse window in the main room. There was a vent in the bathroom, but that vent was too small for someone to get through. Rae could hear them coming through the theater. One inside the group was suddenly noisy. Beginning to kick over the pews.

"They dare to set up this den of Satan like a church." Rae and Ellen heard the leader of the group proclaim. "Satan's slut is what she is. It's time we took out the great whore of Babylon herself."

Rae took a sword from the trunk. It was dull, but could still make a effective club. She handed the metal rapier to Ellen. They remained quiet, hoping that the group wouldn't hear them. Ellen gestured to the window. Going towards it. Rae shook her head. The tall window had bars on the other side. There was no way out of the apartment. Ellen noted something, sitting among the other props that were neatly placed along one wall. Rae smiled and let out a silent laugh.

As the mob made their way to the back of the stage, they had done some superficial damage, but they really weren't there to vandalize the theater. They wanted the 'whore of Babylon' as their leader called her. They were looking for Rae North. If they found Ellen with her, they would consider her a bonus. Naturally they had to take some vindictive spite out on the theater itself.

By the time they broke down the door, they found an empty apartment. "She was supposed to be here alone." The Leader said. "She must of heard us and fled out the back door."

The Leader kicked the covered chamber pot, the urine inside splashed across the room. He thought nothing of the fact that Rae had a chamber pot. Plumbing may have been too expensive for her to install. Many people still used chamber pots. Besides, she was a old woman, she may have had trouble getting to a bathroom if she had one. Most old people did. The Leader started to storm out, his followers had already piled out the back door to spread out and see if they could find Rae North.

That was when he noticed the cord. A thick black cord that went from a wall near a small table under a cabinet. There was a dusty space about the size of the cabinet was visible on the wall there were marks here the cabinet was moved. Moved to cover something. The Leader ran out to call back his followers. It was too late.

There was rapid shotgun fire. Shotguns designed to fire as quickly as Luke's men could fire them. The men were running back into the theater. They had brought clubs to a gun fight. Slamming the door shut would only buy them a little time. Some of the men were badly injured and slumped down where they were. The other men, after locking the door, ran towards the front of the theater. Their leader ran back into the apartment to find Rae North. He had more than a club. The Leader carried a revolver as well. Locking the door behind him he began to pull back the cabinet.

Another shot gun blast. Moving the heavy cabinet the man kicked the bathroom door open to find Rae holding a sword in front of her. He started to take aim to shoot Rae, when he heard the creak of the cabinet door. He saw a revolver sticking out from the cabinet. He turned to face the new threat. Before he could shoot Rae slammed the sword onto his wrist. Breaking bones and causing the man to drop the revolver before he could fire it. Holding his wrist the man glared at Rae.

Another shotgun blast blew open the apartment door. Behind the door, with a pump shotgun rigged to fire as fast as he could pump it was Luke. It wasn't long before the police arrived. The found the group piled up outside the back of the theater. At least those who were caught. Some were still alive, piled with the dead, in a heap. The only person left of Luke's organization was Luke himself. By this time Luke had traded his shotgun for a pistol.
