∆ CHAPTER 4 ∆
It had been three days since my encounter with Wyatt. Dom and I had already moved into the new apartment and since we didn't have much, it didn't take us long to get everything unpacked.
The apartment had already come furnished, the fridge stocked, and closets filled with clothes. I was sure John had something to do with all that, not that I was complaining. Having more clothes never killed a girl before.
I made my way outside my room to join Dom on the living room couch where he was watching TV.
For the hundredth time this week his phone started ringing. If Ty wasn't calling, he was texting. I had to give the guy props for being so persistent. Or maybe he was just obsessed with Dom and I should find his behavior creepy.
"Just answer him!" I finally got annoyed after the fourth ring.
"Ev, communication is like a fart, the longer you hold it in, the more shit comes out when you finally give in to it."
"That statement made no sense what's so ever; I have no idea what you're talking about." I couldn't help but laugh at his absurd answer.
"It means I haven't talked to Ty in too long, who knows what he's gonna say." He seemed genuinely worried, effectively stopping my laughs.
"Hey, he's crazy about you. Anyone can see that, just talk to him and you'll see this will all blow over." I doubted Ty was mad about Dom secretly partying with some other guys, I was sure he was more worried than anything about Dom wanting to leave him for one of those said guys.
"Fine, I'm gonna go over to his house to see what's on his mind." Dom got up off the couch, picking his keys off the kitchen counter before heading to the door.
"Good luck." I called out before he left.
****
I had just gotten out of the bathroom after a warm shower when I heard my phone buzzing on my night stand. I guess it was just that kind of day where phones decided to bug the shit out of people.
It was a message from Wyatt.
Him: Hey it's Wyatt, I was wondering if you're free to grab that ice cream I owe you today?
Me: I am free, which ice cream shop do you want to meet at?
Him: It's called 'Frosty Sweets'. It's not very well known but it has the best ice cream I've ever tasted, you won't regret it! Meet there in 30?
I agreed and he sent me the address to his infamous 'Frosty Sweets'.
The ride to Frosty Sweets was short, only taking about 10 minutes.
I was surprised to see Wyatt waiting outside what I assumed was his car since I was pretty sure I was early.
I hadn't taken long to get ready, grabbing the first sundress a found and matching it with black flats.
"Hey." I gave a bright smile admiring the form of his chest through his white shirt.
"I hope you're ready to have your taste buds explode." He gave me a quick hug in greeting returning my smile as he did so.
"Let's see if the ice creams actually that good." I walked towards the door, but Wyatt opened it for me before I could.
"Thank you." I said before going in.
A girl stood behind the counter that contained the various flavors of ice cream.
"Hello there, what would you guys like today?" She had a big smile plastered on her face.
I didn't even have to search to know "vanilla, please."
"Cone or no cone?" I saw the cones covered in frozen chocolate at the top.
"Cone." I looked up at Wyatt to see he was already staring.
"Are you sure you want vanilla? You can choose any flavor you want, multiple if that's to your liking."
I shook my head, "I know its lame but I like vanilla, I guess I'm just simple like that."
He gave me a heart stopping smile, "I like simple things."
His comment shouldn't have affected me, but it did. I felt momentarily warm inside and then I realized that this was a lie and I got my head back in the game.
"I'll have vanilla ice cream too then, no cone."
After we got our orders and Wyatt paid we sat at a table to enjoy our ice cream. I had to say, it did taste pretty fantastic.
"So Wyatt what do you do?" I decided to start up a conversation.
"I'm actually still in college."
"What are you studying?"
"Medicine, I want to be a doctor. It might sound cheesy, but there's just this great feeling you get when you help someone in pain no longer hurt."
Great, just another thing that adds to his perfect personality! Why the hell did he have to be so nice? It almost felt wrong to lie to his face.
"What do you do?"
"I write." I had no idea why I said that. I'd never written anything in my life, except that time in fourth grade when I made a short story about a watermelon named petunia that escaped Juicy Land to find love.
"You should let me read one of your works sometime." I nodded my head but switched the subject; I doubted Wyatt would be into a story where a watermelon was the protagonist.
We talked a bit more until we finished our ice cream.
"I can't believe you shaved your friend's eyebrows off." I was still laughing at that.
"Tucker deserved it! He kept making sex noises while I was on the phone with my grandma; she gave me bibles as a Christmas and birthday present for two years in a row after that!" I began to laugh harder.
"I don't know who I love more right now, your grandma or Tucker."
He gave a short chuckle before clearing his throat.
"Well angel, now that I've fulfilled my debt I'd like to ask you on a real date." Wyatt suddenly said.
He started calling me angel as a joke after I told him the story of how a guy tried picking me up by stating I must be an angel since it was in my name.
I gave an exaggerated relieved sigh, "thank goodness, I thought I was going to have to hit you with a rock again to get you to ask me out on a date."
He laughed "I'm still feeling that last one. So how about we hold off on any rock throwing for a while?"
A giggle might have escaped my lips then, "I'll try my best."
He walked me to my car once we were ready to go.
"Goodbye Wyatt."
"Goodbye angel." I couldn't help the smile that took over my face at his annoying new nickname.

OK so this chapter was just kind of a filler to get Wyatt and Evs relationship going. I had to do it so that an actual date can insue. I'm sorry if it completely sucked, which I hope it didn't but I promise this will all get better. I'm figuring everything out as I go. If anyone's wondering Frosty Sweets isn't real.
