∆Chapter 11∆
×Pt2×

We were down by one.

Tucker, Ty, and I were up against Dom, Wyatt, and Amy. Ironically no one had their significant other on their team which gave the game a fiercer competitiveness.

We each wanted to beat our couple.

"Its a good thing you handle my balls better than you handle this volleyball," Dom teased Ty —he thought he had this game in the bag— but Ty merely gave him an evil smile. He definitely didn't plan to lose.

It was a good thing too because neither did I.

"Keep talking shit and I won't be handling your balls for a while."

I did not need to hear that.

"Go ahead Amy, say something to Tucker to assert your dominance because you are kicking his ass!" Dom quickly turned his energies towards Tucker—no longer teasing Ty. He got riled up when ever he was winning something.

"You're doing really well Tuck," she sent a smile his way.

"That was so terrible," Dom looked at Amy, "no more trash talking for you… ever! I actually don't even think that could be considered trash talking."

Tucker laughed, "Stop bullying my girlfriend into being mean before I kick your ass Dom."

"Hey, are we going to continue to talk or are we goning to start playing?"

"Why not both?" Dom tried to imitate a little girls voice but just ended up sounding slightly like a pedophilic 20 year old man who hadn't gone through puberty yet. "See what I did there? I was the little girl from the taco commercial."

"I'm going to serve this ball now and if you're not ready it won't be my fault," I ignored Dom's comments, wanting to redeem myself already, and win this lousy game.

***

With the threat of losing, my team definitely stepped up their game, so much so that we are now tied with Dom's team.

I loosened up my shoulders and fixed my stance, focusing on the place I wanted the ball to go.

I can do this.

I threw the ball into the air—keeping my eye on it the whole time— waiting for the right moment until it descended towards me; before… "THWACK! " I hit it right on, causing it to soar across the sky.

Right as I hit it I knew it was a perfect hit; they wouldn't be able to get to it in time. It was towards the end of the court but I had a feeling it wouldn't go out of bounds.

WE WERE GONNA WIN!

At least that's what I thought until Wyatt did the most amazing dive that I have ever seen, preventing the ball from touching the ground. Then he threw it to Amy, where she finished with a perfect spike.
