Part 5

The school was previously a chateau, which was the former chancellor residence who succeeded to bring balance in hard times. In honour of his work, the town council named the school after his name, the Grant McGregor School.

Robert and his friends were walking on the front garden when they saw someone sitting on the bench alone, it was Timmy Wright.

"Hi Tim, why so gloomy?" said Scott jokingly.

Tim just sighed.

"What's wrong?" Robert asked.

"Nothing."

"I don't believe it," said Amanda.

"Well ... you know Mrs Johnson in the cafeteria?"

Scott nodded and said, "Yep, what's up with Mrs Johnson?"

"She made these nice oat crackers that I like to eat for lunch for half a Suver. Mum already packed me bacon and diced cheese, but I guess it'll just bacon, cheese and no cracker."

"Why not?" asked Robert.

"I had five coins of twenty bozen when I left home, and this morning I ran into Drummond ... He showed me his two hands ... one was clenched, he named Bob, and the other open, he called Gery. He said that Bob liked to meet new people, but he usually got back sored. Gery, he said, was a butt in the pain for Bob because he always gets in his way. Bob wants to meet me, but Gery would be delighted to have a chat with Bob for some bozen. So I ended up paying Gery three coins of twenty bozen."

"Sixty?!" asked Scott.

"You know, Paden and Gavin are his inseparable mates, like tails ..."

"You poor thing ..., I'm so sorry to hear that. One day he'll get back what he did to you. I heard fate sits quietly and watch while he finishes his cup of tea, but... he takes notes," said Amanda.

"Here," said Robert giving one coin to Tim. "I still got some for lunch."

"Thanks!" said Tim, looking a little cheered up.

"Timmy ..."

Robert could hear a distant sound, Tim turned his head towards Robert to see who was calling.

"Oh ... that fat brute again! Better get into the class," said Tim.

"Couldn't agree more," said Scott.

They all separated and went upstairs to their classroom. Amanda had a baking class, Scott had mathematics, and Robert had reason and effect class.

Robert was quite in class, he stared blankly at the parks outside through the window, worried about the public speaking class later that day. He practically didn't hear a thing what Mr Sevenson was talking about.

"Robert, " said Mr Sevenson, but Robert didn't budge.

"Jerry," called Mr Sevenson. "Pull his ear, will you?"

"Owww," said Robert.

"Welcome back Mr Annings. I trust you know that reasoning requires attention, and a great amount of it. As you know, I am sure, a thin air evidently has nothing."

Mr Sevenson then looked around the class.

"However, present time can tell the past and perhaps some of what may come."

He looked at the clock and said, "Class dismissed. Have a nice day."
