Chapter 16

Me, Kate and Skylar had decided to go library together to get on with our work but the library being empty gave us the chance to talk instead of work.

"So he apologised and it looks like we are in good terms."

Kate was talking about the guy who covered us in cream. "So you guys are dating?" Skylar asked.
"No but I don't know what the future holds."
"Great you two have men in your lifes and I don't." Skylar pouted.

"I am sure you will find someone. You are gorgeous," I said and she smiled.

"Well at least you have seen some beauty in me."

"I have too." Kate added and we all laughed.

Skylar looked at her watch before rolling her eyes.

"I have a lecture in ten minutes so I have to go. If I don't come back here then I will see you in the evening in the accommodation hallways."

We nodded as we said bye to her before she left.

"So how is your relationship with prince Jack and why haven't you taken him to your accommodation yet." I snorted at her explanation.

"He isn't a prince and why should I allow him into my accommodation."

Kate frowned at me. "You two are dating so it's normal."

Oh barbecue chicken I am blowing my cover. I looked up at Kate before going into acting mode. "Fine I will tell you the truth."

Take a deep breath you are about to give her the most convincing lie ever.

"I have been to his accommodation before and it looks nothing like this place and I am scared that he is going to think that I am poor or lower than him which is true but..." I paused dramatically as Kate gave me a sympathetic look before taking me in a hug.

"Oh Michelle I understand what you mean. I guess before allowing him in you can explain to him about the blocks you live in. After all your actual house is probably way better." I nodded. My house actually was. I had lied to Kate though. I had never seen Jack's place before so I couldn't testify but hey it saved me so who cares!

"Your right I will talk to him but for now I wouldn't want him near." She smiled and we moved onto a different topic and Kate started talking about her lectures. "They get so boring and I have to sit through it and pretend it's OK. How do lecturer's do that?"

"Do what?"

"Their job. Talk for hours and bore people to death." Then James came to my head.

"Kate I really don't know."

"Me either! But someone needs to stop them" I noticed a poster on the wall behind Kate which advertised Halloween. I reached and pulled the posted from the wall.

"Why is this in here?" I wanted to know why a uni would have this poster.

"That's an advert for the Halloween party."

"Universities have Halloween parties?'

"Well it isn't being run by the uni but by the students so the staff have no word in it and yes it's on campus." I looked at the leaflet and saw it had a dress code which is scary costume. This seems too childish for any of us.

"Well we can do something different instead of going to this party," Kate suggested.

"What should we do?"

"A Friday 13th special."

"But it's Halloween."

"13th and 31st October what is the difference."

"18." We looked up and saw a short guy in glasses standing at our table.

"Well the fact that you said what is the difference between 13 and 31 you would get minus 18 but if 31 is first in the question then you get positive 18."

Me and Kate looked at each other before looking back at him.

"Who the hell are you?" Kate asked.

"My name is Blair. I do maths here."

"We can tell." Kate said as she examined him. Blair turned to look at me before I explained things to him.

"By difference we meant between the events Friday 13th or Halloween." He blinked before replying. "There is no difference," he said before walking of.
Kate starter clapping, "I think I like him now."

"He seems smart," I said

"He is smart," Kate said as she looked back to see if he is there.

"So you, me and Skylar will try go to the Friday 13th camp site."

"That would be awesome!"

"Oh we can even go to the haunted castle!"

"What castle?"

"It's near Liverpool but it's worth it."

My eyes widened. "That's too far!"

"Oh come! It would be fun let's do it. Please." I would have said no but she did the puppy dog face and I couldn't resist.

"Fine but if I get killed you are to blame." She nodded before giving me a small hug.

"Thanks boo."

Boo?
