"Hey Clint, can you teach me how to use your bow and arrow?" Pietro asks, his lips twisted into a smirk as he leaned against the door."Why would you me want to do that?" I shoot back.
"Tony says I should respect how much you have to work to do what you do."
I raise an eyebrow in shock and surprise. Tony Stark, huh? I would've thought of Cap for that. "Fine, come on."
He looks taken aback, "Seriously?"
I shrug, "Sure, why not?"
He jumps, "Cool!" I chuckle a little at his childlike interest.
"Ok so first I need to know if you can pull the string back. So face that target and see if you can do that." I say, pointing at a target about halfway across the room.
Pietro turns and pulls the string quite easily. Then he puts the bow down again and looks all the way across the room before turning back to me with a look of awe, "How far away is that?" he asks, pointing to the target on the farthest wall.
"Ummm, about 330 yards, why?"
"It's just incredible that you can accurately shoot that far." Then he put his bow back up and pulled the string.
I chuckle, "I'm going to fix your stance."
"What stance?"
"Yours dumbass. Now then, I want you to imagine a line that runs from your feet and goes all the way to the target." I can see his mind working for a month be fore I continue. "Now place your feet on that line." He does, and now his back is facing me. His muscles ripple along the back of his t-shi- NEVER MIND MOVING ON. "Now pull the string," moving to the other side so that I can reach his elbow. Though I could have reached it from his back, I want gonna do that to myself. "Put your elbow up a little more. Forward arm straight. Feet shoulder width apart. Turn your face towards your forward arm as best you can." I instructed. He did as he was told quickly. "Now, when you want to fire, you just release."
He slowly relaxes the bow, "It is a lot of work." he murmurs.
"You wanna try actually doing it?" I ask holding an arrow out to him.
He grins with a quick nod. I proceed to show how to anchor the arrow. Then I step to the other side of him(God that shirt is WAY too tight) and notice his stance is a little off. I step forward and press against his back to fix the height of his elbow because it was too high and his forward arm wasn't straight. I sigh a little, mostly in defeat that my desires got two steps ahead of me. "Fire," I say softly, stupidly in his ear. Damn it. THWOOSH. THUNK. I look up to see that he hit the target, albeit in the blue two section but still very good.
"You did really good for your first go. Congrats."
He twists around and hugs me tightly, "Thanks Clint! I have to because I promised my sister lunch but maybe we could this as a daily lesson thing? Cuz I think this is really cool!"
I froze a little. What do I say to this?
