A couple of weeks after The Battle of New York
Natasha's POV
"Guys! Look what I found!"
Everyone looked up to see me holding up an entire set of individual Avenger shirts.
"This street vendor was selling them, so I got an entire set."
"Really?!?! Can I have some?!?" Clint squeals.
Tony goes back to whatever he was doing on his, but not before muttering, "Fanboy."
Clint's POV
I was on him in a matter of seconds, one hand over his arc-reactor, one handing clutching the knife. His eyes widen just ever so slightly.
"I was expecting a better reaction from you Tony," I say calmly.
"A better reaction? What the fuck Clint?" He throws his hands up, annoyed. Then one of his pushes my hand, the one that's on his chest, out from underneath me, causing my body to flip over and land on him. But before I can, he pushes up with both hands, flipping me over the table. Tony and I are on our within milliseconds. Steve stands up.
"Did you enjoy that reaction better Clint?" he yells.
"Tony, please calm down."
Tony looks at Steve, takes a deep breath, and seems to calm down for a few seconds.
Until I open my big, fat mouth.
"What is your fucking problem?"
He just looks at me.
I walk back over to him, "Was it because I had a knife to your throat?" Then I shove said knife under his chin.
He doesn't even flinch, "No, I've had worse."
"Then what is it? Hmmm?"
"None of your business you fucking bastard," he growls.
My voice softens, "Isn't it though? As being your teammates, shouldn't we get to know what each other's pain is?" I ask, looking around the group. Everyone agrees, even Tony. But I know that won't get him to talk. You have to poke and prod until he finally gives up and talks.
"So," I say, poking at his chest, "What's your pain?"
"I can't have any privacy here can I?"
"Nope."
He groans.
"What. Is. Your. Pain." I say, punctuating each word with a poke to his chest.
"That! That right there! Just don't touch me?"
"What? Am I not holy enough to touch the almighty Stark?"
"Not what I said," he grumbles.
"Then what are you trying to say? You gotta help me out here, you hide more than Nat and Fury combined."
"Obadiah Stane. He was... a father figure after Howard died. When I came back from Afghanistan, he wanted blueprints of the arc-reactor, bit I wouldn't give it to him. So one night, he comes in and uses one of my sound sticks to paralyze me. Then he said, 'You know, I tried to let you just give it to me freely, but now I have to force it. I never wanted to do this, but you are so selfish. You father was never this selfish."
Natasha looks up at Tony, her face showing how worried she is. "Tony, Why didn't you tell us?"
"Because I've always taken care of myself. Kept the pain to myself. I thought you guys would think of me as weak. You guys have gone through so much more than I have."
"Not really," Steve says, "I mean, we've all been through a lot. We all have different stories. We should all support each other and talk about it. While I don't agree with Clint's methods, we do want to know."
"Ok."
Third person POV
The rest of the that day was filled with stories love and support.
