Chapter 5
Crap crap crap crap crap. That's all that can go through my head as Loghan stands in my doorway completely shocked.
"Uh, hi," I wave to him sheepishly, trying to go for nonchalance. He's not very convinced.
"What. Was. That," He sounds like the wind has been knocked out of him. His eyes are bulging out of their sockets and his mouth is slightly agape. What do I say? Do I tell him the truth? Am I allowed to tell him the truth? Crap.
"I think you should probably sit down for this one," I pat the spot next to me on the bed and he slowly walks over to me and sits, still shocked.
"What was that Rayne?" He repeats himself but this time with more air in his lungs. He still seems completely in shock and for a moment Iwonder if he's going to pass out. I take a deep breath and start to explain myself..
****
Once I'm done telling him about Energy and Annalise and Blake he doesn't seem as shocked. In fact, he looks almost way too calm but silent.
"Say something Loghan," I'm biting my lip and hoping that he doesn't think I'm some kind of freak or monster. Also, I'm hoping he doesn't run and tell anyone, but he wouldn't. This is Loghan I'm talking about, the nicest and most understanding guy I've ever met.
"C-can you show me?" See, completely understanding. And a bit excited. I can't help but get a little excited too as I bounce on the bed and nod.
"Ok ok, I'm not great at it yet but here we go," I rub my hands together and focus on them and the white current starts to appear. It reaches to my forearm and wraps around my fingers on my right hand and I swirl it into a ball.
"Can I touch it?" He seems awe struck and like a little kid on Christmas. I'm not sure if he can touch it but if I focus and concentrate to allow him to it should be ok, right? I stretch out my arm to him and the current stretches as well. I grab his hand and let the current travel across him hand and up his arm. I look up at him with a huge grin plastered on my face and see that he has the same ridiculously big grin on his face. I pull my arm back and let the current move to my hand and coast it through the air in front of us.
"This is so cool Rayne!" He's so excited he places his hand on my knee and makes me blush and lose focus and the current fades away. I shrug, avoiding his eyes.
"Oops," I give him a crooked grin and he laughs.
"It's ok sunshine. That was amazing," He looks so happy but I don't know how long that happiness will last. Blake texts me.
'I'm headed to your house. Be ready in 5' He's extremely pushy over text messages.
'Ok. we need to talk' I bite my lip and look at Loghan who was reading over my shoulder. Snoop.
"Did I get you in trouble," He pouts and I ruffle his hair.
"It's ok Logo, I'm glad you know," He smiles at the nickname I haven't used in ages. I really am glad he knows, I was dying not being able to tell my friends and now my best friend knows the true me. It's like lifting a weight off my shoulders.
"Give me a minute to throw on some clothes and we'll face Blake together. He's not as imtimidating as he looks," I wink to him and grab some clothes and head to the bathroom. I realize how much of a mess i am and try to tame my bird's nest on the top of my head. I settle with just putting it into a messy bun and throwing on the hoodie and jeans I have. I brush my teeth and I'm ready to face Blake. No doubt he'll be mad. I walk out of the bathroom to see Loghan looking at the journal.
