Chapter 1- It's all Happening

Never did I actually think it would get to this day, to this point. Although our entire family of three had had this emigration planned for months, it never felt as if it would become real. Ostentus- the most beautiful town I'd ever known, in fact, the only town I'd ever known- was about to become home to someone else, on our departure. Someone that wasn't me. My entire life revolved around this place. Ostentus school- where I had spent most of my days, only ever allowed perfection from their students and with just 25 students in our junior year, it was too easy to get caught. The only way I could even my phone into school in the morning was with the help of my boyfriend, Liaem. I would simply make sure he did my pre- school health and safety check over as him, being a prefect held this shared responsibility with the teachers, and was willing to to allow some slack. We had one of those relationships where our status was well-known, but between us, there was never much communication or progress. In actual fact, there really was a lot of that going on in Ostentus. Even the teacher I'd had since third grade (Mrs. Printte) could never remember to call me the right name. Over the years, I'd had "Alice, Andrea, Alexis" and my personal favourite "Adequate." At least I knew what she truly thought of me, if it was even me she was thinking of.

I know what you're thinking. From this description you probably think I lead the most boring, predictable life but that's only because I haven't told you what I do with the rest of my time that isn't spent procrastinating the mounds of homework I never do. And wouldn't you like to know. Yeah, maybe save that one for another day. To be honest, I'm content with all my circumstances and it just feels so wrong, so unfamiliar to be moving. Although Liaem is the only real connection I have keeping me here, I doubt we'll discuss what will become of us. I guess if we never break up, we are still technically in a relationship, even if we never talk to one another again. He's a nice enough guy, intelligent and looks almost like the Baywatch version of Zac Efron, if Zac Efron were a platinum blonde lank. The only thing lacking is his personality. To this day, I'm not even fully sure he has one.

Nevertheless, this day, this point has arrived where we have to leave and so it's time to say goodbye to past times and hello to this new mystery life. The very thing about mysteries is just that you never know whether they'll benefit you, or completely blow up in your face. I guess this mystery is one to be solved very soon- but I'm not sure whether I want to know the answer or not.
