"So, you fresh meat?" asked the new guy...

Is he talking to me? Sea thought. She looked at him to ask if he was talking to her, but he looked away...

The heck?

Sea was about to go back to her book when the guy- quite dramatically- turned his head to look at her, slowly peeking. On seeing the confused look on Sea's face, he gave her a sheepish smile. Sea couldn't help but laugh.

Darn... he's cute...

She saw him frown at her laughter and gave him a smile. He looked down at his feet, and then looked back up at her expectantly.

What? Oooh... The fresh meat thing. Um... No...??

She shook her head. And back to the book, it was.

Zen's POV

I just looked away... I mean, what else could I have done?

She didn't speak... why didn't she speak??

Idiot! You shouldn't have asked her a yes or no question... if you wanna talk to her you should have asked her something she can actually answer, you dumb-head!!! The voice inside my head told me. Dude! What happened to you? Where you come from, girls used to swoon over you, left and right... does that charm not work in this place? I mean no one has even said hi, and I don't mind. But, she's different, I want her to talk to me... She's just-

"Um..."

My head turned up soo fast, I could almost hear it snap... Huh? She speaks! YES!!!

But she looked like she was hesitating and kinda scared... why? Am I too... intimidating? Wait, am I scary? I admit I'm not the most approachable person in the world, especially here, but...

Sea's POV

Okay, the guy practically SCREAMS trouble...

Have you seen him... LOOK at him! He is the Definition of 'Bad Boy'!!!!! The angel on my shoulder said... you know what, don't overreact. said the shoulder devil and threw a fireball at the angel, I swear, my imagination goes places sometimes that even I don't know to exist. a little walk on the wild side never hurt anyone... talk to him... said the devil again.

"I..."

C'mon Sea!

"I've been here for a while. It's a little hell-hole-ish... well, a LOT hell-hole-ish, but I live in the shadows, and I don't mind it... and considering I don't have much of a choice..." I shrugged.

Shut up now sea... I heard the angel again.
And I decided to listen to her.

Zen's POV

.......I don't have much of a choice..."

Wait, what?

But damn, out of all the 7 circles of hell, a wide grin spread on my face, and I just couldn't help it. Her voice... it sounded like-

Seriously, WHAT is happening to you man! You used to not give a crap about girls, and now what, color bombs goin' off in your vision makin' it blurry- SNAP OUT OF IT!!! My mind scolded me.

In an attempt to get rid of my grin, bit down on my lips so hard I could feel them throbbing. And though I could still feel a smile tugging on my lips, I resisted.

If I am getting through this, I need to not feel... Anything.
