(This story will be completely from Jaden's perspective, this short story was requested by @Jedi_Raptor.)

For as long as I could remember, I was shunned by the kingdom I once called home. I was called a hybrid, a mistake, a monstrosity, just because my father was a human, and because of my bright red tail. I thought I had no place in this world, that everyone would hate me no matter how hard I tried. I'm just a giant beacon, waiting to be caught by a human. I thought I would never find happiness in this world after I lost my mother, the only one who truly cared about me, but that soon all changed on one faithful night, but I should start at the beginning, and tell you how my mother and father met... to where they created me...

Years before I was born, my mother was going out to search for shells as she usually did, she was known as one of the most gorgeous mermaids in the kingdom. She had long brown hair, and beautiful hazel eyes, her tail was a beautiful shade of blue. When she was looking near one of the many kelp forests near the kingdom, she was caught in a old fishing net that sailor's dropped and abandoned in the sea. She couldn't swim as her tail was wrapped in the net, cutting into her tail, making it to where it hurt and cut deeper when she tried to move it. The current swept her to the shore, she thought she for certain, that she would be captured, tortured, maybe even killed. She hadn't been in the water for quiet some time, her tail was completely dry, and she hoped that no human would find her, but she had circulation cut off from her tail ever since she swept a shore, she laid there, beached on the sand, and was barely conscious. That's when a man came and freed her from the neat, he then picked her up and brought her back to his place, and to a body of water more inland. He saved her life, he wrapped her wounds, being sure they healed probably. This man... was my father. My mother had told me a lot about him, how kind he was, the music he played and sang, and how much he truly cared for her not caring how different they were. After a few months, she recovered from being stranded on the beach so long, the cuts and gashes from the net mended and healed, my father brought her back to the ocean, but she didn't come back alone, I was created during the time she was inland, she was pregnant with me on her trip back to her kingdom.

I was born about a month after she returned, but I was not normal, it wasn't just because of who my father was, It was also because of my bright red tail. I was born with brown hair like my Mother's, but when I grew up she said that I looked a lot like my father. Many people of the Kingdom despised and shunned me, fearing if they swam too close to me, they would be caught by a human. I was like a bright red beacon, they knew for sure that anything that was above the water, could see through the water to me. Everyone feared me as if I was some sort of monster, I was abnormal, a merman that no one wanted to be around, or even want to exist. The only one that truly cared about me was my mother. She was always there for me, no matter what happened. Yet... she was taken away from me so quickly. I was 16 when a incurable disease came through the kingdom, I was lucky enough to not catch it... but my mother caught the disease. I knew there was nothing I could do, but I had to try and help her get better. I worked hard and tried my best to keep her strength up, I worked as many jobs as I could handle, but by the time 6 months rolled around... she had died... the one person who had truly cared about me in the cruel world. I tried my best to continues on in the world without her, I didn't have much luck though. I got into many fights, people attacked me without warning most times. I decided that I couldn't live in the kingdom anymore, I was better off to leave and never return. I packed my things and left the kingdom, swimming towards the place my mom said that she met my father. If he was still alive... maybe he would care for me. I left in the night, I packed food that would hopefully last me a week at least. I took one last look at the kingdom before I started my journey for land.

As I journeyed out into the vast unknown, I heard booms and bangs above the water. I decided to peek, and see what If I could find out what was going on. When I looked up I saw what looked like explosions, but they were beautiful. I saw reds, blue, greens, yellows, and so many other different colors. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life, I smelt a smell that I had never smelt before, the smell made my nose burn and then I saw a ship, but it had a orange fog of some sort coming off of it, as the mast fell I dove back into the water, barely dodging it as it fell. I went to swim down, but then I saw something fall into the water. It was a human, a raven haired man with blonde highlights. I came closer to him, I knew that human's couldn't breathe underwater, but where could I take him? I didn't know if there was any land close by, I would have to keep his head above the whole time until I could get him to land. I got him to the surface, so he could actually breathe. I looked around, hoping to find another ship to take him too, but instead I found land, maybe it was the land he came from. I started to swim towards the land, being sure to keep his head above water. I had never been on land before, so I don't know how I will even get to it. I continued to push forward though, and I finally got to land. I managed to get him quite far onto the beach, so the oncoming tide wouldn't sweep him away and back into the ocean. He looks so peaceful, I saw the gently rise and fall of his chest. I never thought I would see a human so handsome before, I knew I was attracted to guys, but I never thought it would occur now of all times. I suddenly felt dizzy, I realized how dry my tail was and I tried to drag myself back to the water, I suddenly a wave of black came over me, as I fell to the ground, falling to the sea of unconsciousness.

I woke up to find myself in a very soft bed, I was covered up and my head rested on a pillow that was the softest pillow I had ever rested my head on. I felt something over my chest and arms that was one big piece, it was similar to what the one man was wearing. I believe my mother said it was called a shirt, it was a pearlie white. Why was I inside a absolutely gorgeous room? How was I even still alive since I was not in water? I looked around the room for a while, I looked through the huge window at the ocean, the waves crashing into the shore. I longed to be back out there, where I belonged, but then I realized, that my tail wasn't there, it was replaced by two legs, and I was wearing what I believe were called pants they were a blue color. Questioins started to form in my mind, where was my tail? Why do I have legs?

Am I... Human?

So this is only the first part of this, I will be doing a second part to this. The total word count is 1443. I accidentally repeated a bunch of the story, it was originally at 1700 words before I removed the part I repeated. I hope you enjoy this so far!
