India won the match against the white

This group rejoiced unknown of the pathetic night

They decided to dine in a nearby resto-bar

Not knowing that after the night, they would have gone too far

They were enjoying and all was good

Something happened just before they ordered some food

A man walked by, filthy and stained

Just as he passed by, someone he disdained

The drunkard had assaulted a girl

Someone’s daughter, but the boy’s pearl

She was agitated, surprised and scared

When the man had mocked her to go bared

The majestic eyes, the determined look

Mind swirling with rage, anger seething on the crook

“How dare you contempt my girl?” he yelled aloud

Two, three, four...many gathered and formed a crowd

He stood there, the very moment for her

The hero, her guy, throbbing with anger

He abused the man and pushed him hard

Yelled at the drunk guy, called him a retard

The man retorted while he was high

“I’ll be back in fifteen minutes and you all will die”

His friends, heroic and true

Bawled out loud “we’ll beat you black and blue”

Off he went away into the night

Here the boys rejoiced the victory of their fight

The fight they thought they’d won...

But in reality, the man did not run.

True to his word, he was back,

This time, he was no more slack

His eyes red and body tensed

The rage he tasted and the sourness he sensed.

Not alone this time

He was going to commit a crime

An army of fifteen drunks is what he had

All, to kill the innocent lad

Right on his table, they stabbed him with a knife

His girl wailed out with unbearable strife

Their friends were afraid and agonized

But the danger of the men they had realised

Yet they gallantly stood up to fight

The killers were wrong, they were right.

The passersby watched one more being killed

Only with fear, they all were filled.

The joyous group was now tattered

For, their friends’ lives were shattered

The departed would be in heavens reborn

For now, from their lives they were forever gone

The cops as always were late to arrive

The story from the onlookers they did derive

The whole country stood up for the brave men

But the assassins were already hiding in their den

So, the folks sympathized for a day or two

Soon everybody had something else to do

This sacrifice was forgotten and discarded

Yet, It’s a story of heroes...being disregarded
