Harry rushed out after her, but Hermione was gone. All that lingered was her the smell of her lavender and honey perfume.
Draco bumped into Harry on accident, trying to rush out after Hermione.

"Sorry Potter." He apologized quietly, wandlessly summoning his jacket.
"I need to go find Hermione now... I hope you all have a good rest of the evening." The bite and anger had deflated out of Draco the moment his girlfriend had rushed out of the room. Instead all he felt was embarrassment for how he acted towards people she cared about.

Draco walked to the apperation point and went back to the house. He hoped she was there, he just wanted to find her and make everything right between them again. He stepped through the front door, everything was silent. Draco checked all the rooms just to be sure but Hermione was no where to be found.

Draco sighed, before apperating to diagon alley, where he began to check out all of her normal hiding places.
Again Hermione was nowhere to be found.

Draco went home and flopped down, face first into a pillow on what was now their bed. He was just going to have to be patient and ride this out. She would turn up soon... He hoped.

Draco knew he had royally screwed up when Hermione still hadn't shown up three days later. He was starting to get worried and had even owled her annoying friends to make sure she wasn't staying with them. No one had seen or heard from her since the Weasley lunch.

Hermione lay wide awake tangled up in the sheets of her hotel bed. She sighed knowing she probably needed to go home today. As mad as she was at Draco she missed him, terribly.

Hiding out and avoiding uncomfortable situations was not like her, but sometimes you just needed a time out for yourself. So that's exactly what she did. She checked into a muggle hotel, stayed in the bed watching tv all day, ordered room service, and wallowed around in her poor mood.

She sat up, untangling herself, and walked to the bathroom. She gave herself a good hard look in the mirror. Hermiones eyes were puffy and had dark circles for days, her hair was basically a rat's nest, and she had chipped off most of her nail polish.

She turned the hot water on, steam filling up the tiny bathroom after a couple of seconds, and she stepped in.
She washed and conditioned her hair, shaved her legs and under her arms, and washed her face. After a good twenty minutes she stepped out ready to face the world. She pulled on jeans and a black sweater, with some comfy black loafers, took the 'do not disturb' sign off the door, and apperated back to her bedroom.

She turned around and looked at the bed, where Draco had startled awake. He looked as miserable as she felt.

Hermione raised an eyebrow at him, not sure if she wanted to give him a good verbal lashing for his behavior a few days ago, or kiss him, because she missed his touch so much.

Draco slowly sat up, running a hand through his hair.

"Hermione, Im sorry, I rushed out after you immediately, but you were already gone."

She sucked in a deep breath, wrapping an arm around herself "You embarrassed me, all of you did. I just want everyone I care about to at least be cordial to each other, I don't expect you all to be best friends, but I do expect effort from both sides."

He held out a hand towards her as a peace offering "I promise from now on I will put forth the effort. I cant promise it will always be smooth, or that I wont snap every now and then, but Ill put the effort in for you."

She smiled softly, for the first time in days, and took his hand, before he immediately pulled her down on the bed and into his embrace. Draco kissed her forehead and hugged her tightly to him, like he was scared she would disappear again.

"Can you promise not to disappear with out at least a word again? I was worried about you and our unborn child. Just something like 'Hey you're a cunt and I'm going somewhere with out you' Can you do that for me?" He said smirking

She laughed, "I think that's possible" Hermione leaned in and kissed him, happy all was well between them once more, now she just had her friends to deal with.

A few days later Hermione made her way to town, she had set up a lunch with Harry and Ron so they could sort out the mess that their friendship currently was.

She walked into the Leaky Cauldron, and sat in a booth towards the back, when Hannah came over she ordered a butter beer, with fish and chips. Her food was out before either of the boys showed up.

She gingerly started eating her chips, as Harry slid into the booth. He smiled sheepishly at her.

"I didnt do it." He stated

"You didnt help either" was the quick retort in between bites of food.

Ron slowly came into view and sat beside Harry, Hannah came and took both of their orders, and then once again they were left to their awkward silence.

"Ron, do you think its just okay to insult someone I care about because you cant get over yourself?"

"Hermione, its Draco, he doesnt truly care about you. He doesnt truly care about anything but the way he looks in the mirror." He said stubbornly before digging into his burger.

"Draco is one of the smartest, most genuine people I have had the pleasure of getting to know. The war was years ago, you need to get over the past so you can continue to be in my life for the present"

"Thats it, huh? Fall in line or Im not allowed to be friends with you anymore? Even when youre making a stupid mistake carrying his demon spawn?" Ron spat at her

"Well this baby is also half ME Ronald, so if thats the way you feel then youre not needed in his or her life." She replied tears in her eyes at this point. She glanced at Harry and smiled grimly. "Ill see you later Harry, I refuse to stay at this table a moment longer."

With that Hermione got up and walked out of the bar, determined not to let her tears flow until she was away from her so called best friend.
