Hermione groaned as she woke up, crookshanks kneading her while purring. Her eyes opened to come face to face with her annoying cat.
Hermione gently picked him up off of her chest and placed him on the bed beside her. She knew what he wanted, hungry thing that he was.... She stretched as she walked over to his food bowl before pouring him a cup of food and giving him fresh water.Hermione sighed as she realized this weekend it would just be Malfoy and her in the house. Bill off somewhere with his job and Blaise trying to seduce some poor unsuspecting woman. She threw her robe on as She walked downstairs to make herself a cup of coffee. She could smell an unfimilar smell around the front door. Hermione frowned as she opened the door looking around all she saw was a box sitting on the welcome mat, a bright red bow tied neatly to the front. Addressed to noone and no signature saying who it's from. Hermione picked it up and carried it with her to the kitchen, being the ultra careful person she normally was she grabbed her wand to check it for curses or anything dangerous inside. Feeling satisified, curiousity got the best of her and she slowly opened the box.
If only she remembered curiousity killed the cat...Draco woke up to a scream. Hermiones scream. He had gotten to know her well enough to know she doesn't just scream. He quickly jumped out of bed and rushed downstairs. He looked at her shocked face and the box in front of her. "Granger?" he questioned as he walked closer. She said nothing. Just pointed to the box before moving away from it. Draco looked inside and saw two brown eyeballs staring back at him.
"What the hell?" he questioned closing it up before going to check on the obviously shocked woman. Hermione had made her way to the table where she could sit down.
Yes she had seen terrible, awful things during the war, some much worse than what was in the box. But she had been expecting that. No one goes into war and leaves unscathed, she had been on guard for things like that. But the war was 5 years ago, her guard had been dropped for the most part. It had been a time of peace.... And now someone's blue eyes were literally sitting on the kitchen counter, in a box.Draco frowned seeing the emotions play across her face, he turned away from her and went to his jacket hanging in the hall way. He dug through the pockets until he found what he had been looking for, the muggle contraption called a cell phone, that he seldom used. He tried to call Jeff Langston... A pack member who travled more often then not. Just as he suspected Jeff didn't answer. He quickly jotted down SOS on two notes and sent the house owl out to find Bill and Blaise. He turned to Hermione, a wild look splayed across her face, her hand clutching her wand. Draco swallowed hard, even with all the drama currently happening he found her attractive as hell.
"Ease up on your wand... You don't want to snap it in half." he told her quietly placing his hand on hers. Hermione finally looked at him, snapped out of her stupor.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Draco sighed as he noticed the scent lingering on the box recognizing it.
Fenir. "Hermione, did Blaise ever tell you how him and I wound up in this predicament?" Brown eyes clashed with grey as she shook her head no. Draco spelled the tea pot to make a fresh brew, as he took a seat across from her.
"My family and I returned home one night from the ministry questioning, we were exhausted, not on guard like we should have been. Fenir was waiting in the shadows for us to return. Before I knew it he attacked me, dragging his sharp, disgusting wolf claws down the front of my body." He touched his shoulder, the marks were faded but you could still see jagged claw marks. "It was a few months after you and Potter helped us get out of wasting away in Azkaban. Anyways, back to that night.... It was storming and dark, He called us traders... Which I guess we technically we are. Said something about an eye for an eye, and before I could take my wand out to protect myself, he clawed me me. Blaise had an incident similar to that, he wasn't even apart of the war, but the death eaters were mad his mother wouldn't help fund their side. I guess, he's coming back to finish the job? I don't know for, but that's his scent." Draco was glaring at the spot where his dark mark had been, angry he put himself in this position, angry at himself for dragging Hermione back into the dark. "If only had I hadnt been a coward to stand up to the Dark Lord, then none of this would have happened" He finally whispered more to himself than Hermione."I don't think youre a coward... I think what you did was brave. You did what you had to do to survive, and sometimes thats the hardest choice you can make."
Draco looked down at her, leaning closer. He knew once they kissed he would be a goner, but he didn't care. Curiosity won out the best in him, and suddenly his lips were pressed against her soft ones.
Hermione grabbed the back of his neck pulling him closer, her robe slipping down her shoulders, just as she felt his tongue pressing against her mouth the tea pot whistled and brought them both back to reality. They quickly let go of one another. Hermione turned a shade of red that would make Gryffendors proud. She quickly stood up, "I need to go to the office, I might be able to find out if any wizards or creatures have been reported missing. Maybe we can find out whose eyes those are, and where they play out in this story" She explained before hastily running up the stairs and out of sight.
