Ares's Point of View

Late in the afternoon 2:21 pm

"Lana." She woke up. "I have to work tonight. My two weeks are up." "You have to go?" She asks, rubbing her eyes. "Yes," I answered. "But Adele will be here soon." "Adele, Giovanni's wife?" She asks again. "Yes," I say, getting up from her bed. I took off my shirt, now shirtless. But I kept the jeans on. "I will be right back." I left her room.

I went to my room, looking for my work. I got down on the floor to look under my bed, I pull out a long black box under my bed, I open the box, and I pull my Browning Hi-Power gun and set it on my bed. I went to my closet, pulling out my bullets proof vest. I put on, making sure it is secure. And I put on my black long sleeves on. I put the black gloves on me. I look at myself in the long mirror.

"Oh lord." Behind me, there she was. Adele De Víí, redhead, she has a contoured face with red lipstick, slender body with some boob job. "Giovanni is in a limo. He is waiting for you." "Thanks," I say. I took a second look at myself. I'm ready to go. "Lana is up, she is waiting for you in her room. The gun is on my bed." She nods and smiles brightly. "God, I missed her." "Remember, she doesn't." I reminded her. "Don't worry." She winks at me, still smiling. Women. I thought. They are too much. I left outside. I see a limo waiting for me.

I climbed inside the limo, knowing that Giovanni is always drinking vodka. He is always drinking vodka before we go to work. I'm guessing to calm his nerves. "I already talked to the guys. They are coming soon. Blackthorne is not coming." Wait... What? I thought. "He is not coming?" I am in shock. Blackburne is always excited to come to work, not that he is taking pleasure in killing. He is always so hyped to get the money. Always has.

"Yes." He grits his teeth. Okay. I thought. Giovanni seems to be on edge. He never has been on edge unless something is bothering him to his bones. Should I? I thought. Maybe I should leave it alone? "You good?" I say, nonchalantly. "Yeah, I'm good." He drinks some more than usual.

We picked up Mason, Jasper, and Saint Vincent.
