Death went outside into the darkness. He was used to it and he really enjoyed it.
The moon was full at first, but heavy clouds made it's light seem spooky and dim. The stars tried to twinkled, but it's shine was out beat by the midnight sky and blanket of clouds. The earth beneath Death cracked and the grass turned to hay.
He went straight to the crystal lake and touched it. The water turned to thick mud and he looked into it.
"I'm sorry Life. Where there is light, there is always shadow. Balance must be fulfilled." He murmured. Sadness seem to hang in the air.
Death picked up a rose and laid it gently in the muddy water. "For the souls that have passed, I'm sorry that your time had to come so soon."
Death went in his pocket to look at his pocket watch. It ticked softly from infinity. A never ending line of time and numbers. He then left and went back to the house. He sat in his chair again and sighed.
He knew that something was going to happen in the future. The only problem was to tell Life.
