Bumping into Shawn Memdes

Chapter 6

***ash's POV the next day***

Its 9:00am on Sunday morning and I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off

"Urhhh" I grown as I grab my phone I check my Snapchat, I see that Liam has sent me a message

"Me and Charlie r gonna come to your game today is that cool?"
"Yeah sure 3 at Brisbane oval remember"
"Yep see u then"

I play Footy (afl) on Sunday for my local club the eastern Brisbane bears in the girls seniors team and this weekend we are playing northern Brisbane

I take a shower and get changed into my footy clothes and pack my bag ready to go, just as I am leaving my room I remember the number

"Ash come on hurry up we need to go" dad yells
"Just a sec" I yell back as I grab the note

I think to myself for a moment wondering if I should text it or not
"Well I may swell try it you never know" I say
I grab the note and enter the number into a new message

"Hey this is Ash, who is this" I write and I send the text

"Ash" dad says again
"Coming" I yell as I race down the stairs

When I get to the ground I meet Sidney who is also in the team
"Hey"
"Hey did you text Shawns number?" She asks
"Hay we don't know it's his number yet but yeah I did I just said this is ash who is this" I tell her
"Ooo this is so exciting ash might be texting Shawn Mendes who we met yesterday ahhh" she says starting to jump up and down
"Sidney calm dow we have a game today" I say laughing at her

As we are warming up for the game I see that Liam and Charlie are in the stands so I give them a wave

The game starts and our team is playing well, I play in the midfield and Sidney plays on the forward line, we are on the top of the ladder in our competition and today was another win for our team we won 115-78, I kicked 3 goals and Sidney kicked 5. We head into the rooms to sing the team song

"Good old eastern bears forever, we know how to play the game oo oo oo
Side by side we stick together to uphold the bear name
See the barrackers are shouting as all barrackers should
Oh the premierships are cakewalk for the the good old eastern bears

After the game we chat to Charlie and Liam and then I remember that because of the game I had completely forgotten about the number so I quickly grab my phone and check for a reply - there was one

"Omg ash read it what does it say" Sidney says

I read it out

"Hey ash this is Shawn Mendes when I saw you in the shop yesterday I thought you were really cute so I thought we could talk a bit xxx"

"Omg Shawn Mendes just called me cute me me ash bright cute this cannot be happening right now" I think inside my head

"OMG ASH ASH ITS SHAWN FREAKING MENDES AND HE CALLED YOU CUTE" Sidney yells at me
"Woo ash this is amazing you have to reply" charlie says
"Ash he likes you" Liam says

"What no as if he probs just wants to talk to someone" I say because I want to try and stay cool even though I'm freaking out inside my head

Shawn Mendes just texted me and called me cute I say over and over again in my head
