PoV: Sonic

  I stopped in one of the less fancy parts of town. I had only been here once, Silver pulled me out immediately. There were fires in homes for people to keep warm within worn houses. This place needed more money than my parents did. That does it. When I become king I'm using the taxes to fix the lives if the people. Besides taxes are too high anyway, I'll lower them so we only get enough money to pay bills. That's all we should be doing anyways.

"What's a cutie like you doing here?" An old man said as I walked around.

  I looked around, "Do you mean me?" I asked.

"Of course, why is such a lovely creature in such a dangerous place?" He asked again.

"I was race a... an acquaintance if mine, but I think I ran too far," I answered.

"Just be careful, there are dangerous people around here," he said.

"I promise to be careful," I bowed as a thank you and left.

  The houses need serious repairs and the people here needed better access to food.

"Oh dear."

"Ma'am if you cannot pay for your perchaus I'll have to ask you return the items and leave."

"No please, I have children to feed. We need this," it was a woman in rags. About four children around her and an infant in her arms.

"Ma'am please leave, if have no money you're of no interest to anyone," that made my blood boil, I hated how terrible people could be.

"How much does this cost?" I asked as I walked up to them.

"Excuse me?" The merchant gave me a glare.

"How much does she own you for... do you want any more food than that?" I asked the woman.

"No, please. We can handle this, you don't have to help us," she pleaded.

  I shook my head and smiled, "this is something I want to do," I knelt down to the kids, "Why don't you kids go get some more meat and veggies. Fruits, any food you want."

"Just what do you think you're doing?" The merchant growled.

"I'll pay for her and her needs today. Now, how much does she owe you?" I repeated.

"Eighty silver and two gold," he smirked, "I doubt you can pay that little girl."

  I just placed five gold on his table and his jaw dropped. I looked through the line and paid for anyone else who was shifting through their thing to check pricing, knowing their eyes shows worry and desperation.

"Thank you," the woman came up to me crying and hugged me, "Thank you so much. I don't know how... to repay you," she squeazzed me.

"I-it's alright miss, you don't have to repay me at all. Just think of it as a gift " I gave a warm smile. Helping people like this always felt right, "If you ever need help again, address a complaint to the palace, but send it to the Prince instead of the King. Remember, it's the Prince who will help you immediately, the king is just asking for rebellion by ignore you."

"Thank you," She held my hand, the others I helped hugged me too, "Thank you..."

  I finally got out of the hugs and kept walking through the area. Everything here made me want to fix it all. I sighed and just looked around, just before I felt something pull me away.
                                                                        
                                                                        
Pov: Silver

"Sonic!" I called, "Sonic!"

  I couldn't find him anywhere. I hoped he wasn't down town. I looked everywhere, he was no where to be found. Oh... Sonic...
                                                                        
                                                                        
PoV: Shadow

  I walked around, no guards, no need to look like a Prince. It was, relaxing for a change. I wandered down town. This place was hell for any kingdom. An enormous criticism other kingdoms used against each other.

"No~ Stop~" I heard as I walked past an abandoned house, "please... Aa!"

  Some ones trapped in there... It's not uncommon. I heard more muffled conversations before I recognized how familiar one voice sounded.

"No..." I heard as I walked up the steps, "Not there... ah~"

  I started running, when I found a locked door. I broke it down Sonic was tied up with two strangers. One pulling at his tail and ears, the other was coming towards me.

"What do you think you're doing?" He growled, "we're busy here."

  I didn't answer, instead I gave him a strong hit to the face and knocked him out. I kicked the other off Sonic and untied him.

"Shadow... what are you doing here?"

"Saving your sorry ass. Let's go," I tossed him over my shoulder and he kicked.

"Hey I can walk on my own!" He kicked, "put me down! Shadow!"

  I walked him all the way back to the castle. I tossed him onto his bed and left him there. This fucking kid is crazy.
