Status= Ongoing
Impressions 2/5
I was immediately confused and put off by the grammar. "Yes. Am Janju" and "no...will have here.". Also, the name part was some what random but I won't be nit picky. If English isn't your main language, sorry for the grammar issues but that could be a major put off to some. The whole "oh when is it? 10 minutes! Oh noo! I better hurry!!" Is a bit of an old tactic for writing when it comes to stories. The grammar is still somewhat bad so my first impression of this book so far is not good.Cover 4/5
The cover doesn't really make sense to me, perhaps it is meant to represent the blur of colors the characters and other people their age see before they mature.Title 4/5
The title doesn't make sense to me much either, but you have informed me there is an LGBT theme going on. So perhaps it means that someone helps the other person see the world for what it is, Color or no color they still help them see it fully.Plot 3/5
So far, I can't really tell what the plot is. Chapter one, two, and three was really an intro to three people. It summed up what they do for a living. Once we reached Janju's and Bino's chapters there still isn't any plot. You are introduced to two more characters but nothing really happens at all besides, "my life sucks." And "boys! No! Crushes! No! Cooties!". You then meet Mino, who is childish and an artist. So far, still no plot at all. We get introduced to Sofia which seems to just be a chapter of whining, groaning, telling us how the characters look, and more whining. Still, no plot. But we do learn some rules about this world. Until you mature you cannot see your looks or others looks. In the chapter "Queen Of The Rudeness" we have everyone introduce themselves to the group of the project. We find out everyone's places and now the plot starts to show, perhaps a project for a restaurant. The people in the project start to get to know each other a bit through a group chat, but nothing more. There is some talk about glass doors and their evilness. Trouble starts to brew as 5 year old Estha is rushed to the hospital. The boy had hit his head on a wall and been unconscious for 3 hours, Renny is in hysterics. This is the first real trouble we see.Character 4/5
Mahi: Mahi is shy and nervous during the beginning. He begins to talk to others in the group, and by part 9 he claims to be "improving" which is true it seems. Not a lot of character development commenced for him but he did develop which is good.Renny; Renny is the complete opposite of his friend Mahi. He is friendly and goofy, he easily makes friends with the people in the project group.
Bino: Bino is hoping to be a chef in the future and cooking delicious food for everyone. She seems to be stressed from college which makes her relatable to your readers.
Janju: Janju is a lot like Mahi. He is nervous around others though, not shy in my opinion. He is a good friend to others and it becomes obvious by his actions with Minu and with Renny.
Minu: Minu is like Renny, making them become instant best friends. He is friendly but willing to speak his mind and apparently an amazing artist.
Sofia: Sofia is a girl who is all about looks and isn't kind at all. She is queen of the bitches and doesn't care who likes her and who doesn't. She is stuck up and full of herself.
I love these characters, they are so well written but I just wish there was more to say about them. Hopefully in the upcoming chapters they will expand and not just be characters in a book but relatable like Mahi and Bino.
Overall
Overall this book has the potential to be great but is pulled down by rd tiring first few chapters and it's lack of a plot until part 7 where the huge group project is introduced to us. The characters are great but slightly hard to understand and relate to. The cover is slightly confusing, as is the title if you aren't told like I was that the book is LGBT themed. The cover is able to be figured out though once you have read the book and the beauty of it helps draw you in. This book deserves a score of at least 3/5 but the first impressions and lack of a plot in the beginning makes it plummet. I've tried to make a book like this in the past but with so many main characters it failed from a lack of plot, but yours does have one eventually so I hope you succeed.Scale: 2/5
