Louis' P.O.V.
"Hey, where'd Brigit run off to?" I called over to Niall, who was clearly upset.
"She's gone." He wiped a few stray tears from his face. What had she done to him now?
He didn't seem up for talking about it, so I tried to put the pieces together in my head. She seemed alright when we arrived here, what could possibly have happened? We'd literally been here 10 minutes. Did Niall make a move? Oh god, that boy will never learn...
"You confronted her." It was a statement, not a question. I could see the regretful look in his eyes.
"I had to find out why she wouldn't give me a chance." He kept his head down, avoiding eye contact at all cost.
"What did she say?" I asked.
"Her ex-boyfriend broke her heart, and she doesn't want to go through that again."
I looked across the beach, taking in every beautiful detail. This was one of the best road trips we'd ever experienced, yet Niall couldn't enjoy it without Brigit. He'd fallen hard for that girl.
"You need to get her back." I told him.
"I know that, but how?"
"You'll think of something." I didn't want to get involved, but Niall needed the support, and I was happy to give him it.
Brigit's P.O.V.
There was a knock at the door. Go away, I thought as I got up to answer it. I couldn't deal with Niall right now.
I got a huge surprise when I found it wasn't actually Niall at the door.
"What do you want?" I was in no mood for politeness, and at the moment Louis was the last person I wanted to see.
"We need to talk." He said firmly, inviting himself into my small flat.
"Did Niall send you?" I followed him through to the living room - which was actually just an office that I'd put a TV and sofa into.
"No, he doesn't even know I'm here."
"And it's going to stay that way, because I don't want you giving him false hope." I spat more rudely than intended.
"Look, Brigit, you really need to get over your past, okay? I don't know what happened in your last relationship, and I understand if you don't want to talk about it. But Niall is the most kind, caring person you could ever meet. He'd never ever hurt you; and you know that. So stop stringing him along." It was almost like he was pleading.
I couldn't help but feel guilty in that moment. Niall had been so lovely and supportive and I'd just thrown it back in his face. I'm such a bitch.
"I'll call him." I sighed in defeat.
"Good." He walked straight past me and headed for the front door, as he reached for the handle, he glanced back at me with concerned eyes, "sorry if I upset you."
Once he was gone, I sunk back onto the sofa and dialed Niall's number.
