SHORT CHAPTERS GALORE

"Ms. Black, how long are you going to be in New York for?"

With the microphone in front of her face, she thought she wasn't able to breathe. It was too close for comfort and all she wanted was to go home. Well, as homely as her current base of operations was.

  Sty.

With a sigh, whether of disinterest or mockery, she answered the enthusiastic interviewer. "Until further notice, me and my fellow teammates will be stationed in New York. All games will be held there yet will also be broadcast to the whole world." She bit her lip to prevent adding an unnecessary comment, that will surely risk her public image and hate will rain like gold... golden nuisances.

"How do you feel about going against your old team, Sound Wolves? Do you miss your boyfriend, Sangwoo? Do you feel pressured to go against him and your old friends?"

If only he can just shut up for a bit, that would be nice. "They are adversaries on the battlefield. We do not interact with them and we will not do so unless we find benefit in it." She paused, and continued. "Baek Sangwoo is not my boyfriend, and I am not pressured at all. We seek fair fights and that is all."

Honestly, the flashing lights and mindless chatter from these reporters were starting to irritate her, if they haven't already. Kim Seokjin glanced at her from his seat, answering his own questions that he was obligated to fulfill. All of the Bytes had no other choice but to keep their heads up, gaze straight and expressions clear. All except for one spotlight enthusiast.

  "Ms. Black-"

"적당히해라! Our players are exhausted from the recent match and need to return for rest and practice. Blackrock and our other stars will have to leave for now."

The appearance and interruption of a fifty-year-old Korean man with a strict expression and command didn't faze the players, but they certainly did annoy the press. Everyone of the team had rose from their seats and followed their leader as they left the scene, lights flashing and giving them headaches.

"Thank God that is over," she heard someone say but didn't care enough to pinpoint who.

"Yeah, if I was there any longer, I'd spit at the cameraman." Yoonji.

"It's sad though! I really like the cameras." That was definitely the spotlight-hogger.

"That's enough, you guys. Let's leave everything at that. We need some rest, there's no use thinking about those things now." Seokjin glanced at their coach as he walked in front of the group, his gaze lingering on him for a little before he moved his attention back to his friends.

  "That's so cool!"

"What's so cool about some gaming team?" Raphael asked Michelangelo as the box turtle gave him a grin, clearly excited to tell. He even missed the opportunity to defend his interest from Raph's comment. "What's so cool? Look at them! They're so popular and coordinated in everything they do! They've easily won against their match against the Sound Wolves, which should've been hard for Ms. B.S.S.R but she topped it all off like it was nothing!"

Raph had no idea how to comment on that. He didn't know these teams enough to do so. "Raph, you should watch the next match with me! O-or we can watch the reruns of the previous matches! Ohmigosh, that's a great idea!"

"Better do it, Raph, you don't want to disappoint him, now do you?"

Raph turned from the large screen and towards a passing turtle in purple bandana. who seemed focused on his gadget. Before he could retaliate on the genius and his quip, Michelangelo's face glowed like he had discovered something ingenious. He hopped off the couch and walked to his brother, "Oh Donnie~ You're a genius with technology riiiight~?"

Turning to Micheal, Donnie nodded his head with a smug smirk as he basked in his temporary glory. Appreciation was clearly a thing for him. "Why, yes, of course- wait, wait, wait... what do you have in mind now, Micheal?"

Michelangelo's grin widened as Donnie asked him that very question.

  "Hey, guys, what's up?"

Donnie screamed and jumped back as Leo appeared in the middle of them. "Where did you come from?"

"The surface?" Leonardo replied with an arched eyebrow. "What's got you so jumpy? And why is Micheal smiling like he... oh... I get it. Well, good luck, Donnie. I'm heading for some hooverah," Leo stepped back and turned on his heels before walking away, before Donnie could even ask him what 'hooverah' meant.
