Here I am now. With George.
He led me to a nearby creek, which had some water in it. In the water were tiny tadpoles swimming around. I drank a mouthful. Also Nearby was a man's body, the skin was still there. His mouth wide open, had bugs trying to feed off his flesh. He looked as if he died of thirst. He must have tried to reach the water source, but sadly died just a few metres away from it. He had a backpack and everything. Must have been a trekker. In his bag I found a solar SOS phone. I picked it up and dialled the number. A man on the other end of the line picked up. "sir are you alright?" He asked. Yes I am alright, but please come and get me, I am somewhere in the Flinders ranges I replied. He asked me to create a smoke fire so that they could spot me.
I could not risk my life to find dry shrubs anymore.
So.
I killed him..
I was desperate to go home, it was the last thing I wanted to do.
His body as it burned with the hair on his back, created a smoke big enough for the heli to see me.
As he burned, his eye stared at me, right through my soul.
He was my only companion which kept me sane, helped me find water and ultimately survive.
In this world, it is the
Survival of the Fittest.
