The hangar still amazed me at the sheer size of it- according to Aria, it could hold the entire population of Utopia. Not that she would want that- she didn't like others looking through her 'special toys'. And by 'special toys', I mean warships.
Hundreds upon hundreds of warships.
The Epsilon was the largest- it could hold about a hundred Argo II's inside, if desired. Which was good, since we were transporting a large number of Chaos's soldiers to Earth.
Before us, the Epsilon buzzed with life, mechanics racing around, performing last minute checks on the ship to make sure it was ready for space travel.
Ceatha walked next to me, hefting a large pack filled with supplies. Her face was grim- war was never her thing, unlike her sister.
I patted her arm. "Hey, are you going to be okay?" I asked her.
She shot me a sad smile. "I'll be fine. Aria wants me to help with any necessary evacuations. She isn't forcing me to fight."
We both fell silent as Aria approached. She was in her full armor, her sword God Stinger strapped to her back. Even from a distance, I could feel it's power send a cold chill down my spine. I hoped I am never on the wrong end of her sword.
Like Ceatha, Aria's face was grim. Angry even- if she was just as pissed that we were going to Camp Halfblood as I was. "Wave, is your regiment prepared?" She asked me, glancing behind me, where the group stood to attention as she skimmed her eyes over them. We had agreed to give each other code names, to keep our identity hidden. Just in case.
"They are ready Commander. Scales and Time have already checked their supplies more than once."
She nodded her head, and stood back, beckoning us through with her head. My regiment marched passed her, and towards the awaiting warship.
'Report to me after your soldiers settle in. Bring Scales and Time with you', she networked, before pulling out of my head. I glanced over my shoulder, nodding my head once, before leading the soldiers into the belly of the Epsilon.
By the time I had reached Aria with Garret and Luke, Arion, Ceatha, and Willow were already there. They were discussing something amongst one another, and fell silent as I approached. "Well, what I miss?" I asked them.
Arion chuckled, before digging into his bag, pulling out a wad of cloth, handing it to me. "Well, before your tardy arrival, we were handing out cloaks. Every commanding officer gets one, except for our loving commander", he told us, pausing to bat his eyelashes jokingly at Aria, only receiving an eye roll in return.
It was true- Aria didn't have a cloak like the rest of us. Instead, a black cape was attached to her shoulder. Her helm was tucked under her arm, soft gold lines etched into it. I knew almost immediately who painted it- Ceatha. Aria certainly didn't have that artistic ability.
I unfolded the cloak in front of me. It was a royal blue, that matched my silver armor that I had decided on wearing. "It has the ability to allow your identity to remain hidden- no one can take off the hood except for you", Arion told me as I fastened it around my neck. It was surprisingly light, and was very breathable.
"I love it", I told them, running a hand over the fabric.
Ceatha smiled. "Aria and I designed the cloak a few hundred years ago- we made yours last night" she told me, handing Garret and Luke their cloaks. Like mine, it managed to cover their face, but Garret's was green, and Luke's was gold. How original.
"Well, since we got that out of the way- it's time to go" Aria said, before opening a portal behind us. "The Gods of Olympus await our arrival."
We arrived outside the throne room, already hearing the gods bickering from inside. "Shit, you had to deal with that every day?" Arion asked me, arching an eyebrow. I nodded my head, sighing, before pulling my hood over my eyes, the others doing the same. Almost instantly, their faces disappeared under a veil of darkness. 'Freaky', I thought to myself, as Aria placed her helm over her face, and burst through the golden doors of the throne room
