Seven Years Later

I watch out the window to see the snow falling in large clumps. The ground is white and the trees are covered in blankets of white. I smile amd look over at my strange family. Casey and Holden sit on the couch together, Christina sits on Holden's lap playing with her hair. Much like both her parents she has thick golden blond hair and green eyes; her's are dark, like Casey's.

Matt stands with Dianna who holds my three year old nephew Paylin on her hip. I smile as Matt blows rasberries on his little hands. He giggles loudly, he reminds me of Matt when we were little. He always giggled and smiled and now Paylin does. They're both almost identical. Blond hair and blue eyes.

I hear a loud rucuss and watch ad McKenna slowly inches her way from the seen of the crash back over to Trena and Jagger who sit happily with their five year old daughter Calia and Trena hilds her large baby bump.  Calia sits happily on Jag's lap, playing with his golden locks that she refuses to let him cut. She holds Trena's features strongly but takes Jagger's pale-er skin and light brown eyes while her dark hair waves around wildly eith curls she got from Jagger.

Kyle still happily flies solo, but now has a gorgeous little boy to keep an eye on. He calls him 'his little chick magnet'. Kyle's mini me runs around after him as they play cops and robbers. He's identical to Kyle, in every way. From looks to habbits to speaking. He'll be a heart breaker just like Kyle is.

I look around to see Drew standing at the tree with a grinning Dallas on his shoulders. His eyes sparkle with excitment. His one blue eye and his one brown eye. My beaustiful, different little boy. And Drew holds our little pink bundle in his arms. Shain Winter Rush. Born exactly two years, nine months, three weeks and two days after Drew and I finally decided to tie the knot. Many numbers to remember but I'm good at that now.

Drew changed me just after Shain was born. It was a dangerous pregnancy that left me almost dead from a blood clot. I sigh pushing that memory aside and walk over to my husband. Shain starts to cry loudly in his arms and he lets me take her in my arms. I hush her quietly and run my finger down from the bridge of her nose, to the tip and back up. "Mommy can I put the star angel on the tree?" Dallas asks.

"Of course," I answer. I pick up the giant spliced tree topper Matt and I had once created using an angel tree topper and a star topper. We never really could decide on which one to use when we were younger so we put a star ontop of tge angels head and stuck it there with gold duct tape to keep it there. "I didn't think you kept that thing around." Matty grins and I smile.

"Of course I would, I would never get rid of any of these things, none of the crazy Christmas ornaments, none of the crazy picture or even our different stocking choices." I giggle loudly seeing the collection of Christmas stockings grew larger from the day Dallas was born.

Life is amazing, I have two beautiful children and I will slowly grow old with the man of my dreams, the one man made for me.
