Part 6 - An Unpleasant Surprise

Jessica’s POV

It´s amazing how someone can let you down so much just by being themselves. Jimmy was completely mental… There was a time when I felt sorry for him. But not anymore! Not for a second. My entire body were itching and hurting. The kicks and the punches had been more than I could bare. The pain was indescribable. I woke up to complete darkness and I almost forgot where I was. I tried to locate something, a wall, anything. I found a colf stone wall and rested my head against the wall. The hood was back on, so I had no real idea of night and day. After sitting like this for a long while I heard fast footsteps on the wet floor. I made myself ready for more punches and more pain. But the pain didn’t come. A pair of strong arms helped me on my feet.

“Jessica, are you okay?” Hobbs voice almost made me cry. He took the hood of and released my arms. It took me a while to get used to the dim light. It was either sunset or sundown. I could not tell. Hobbs held an arm around me for support and we ran as fast as I could.

We came outside and the wind in my face felt like true freedom. We jumped in a car and drove off. I looked back and saw a few men running after us with guns. A man I did not know drove faster and the men behind us disappeared. I clung to Hobbs and could not hold back the tears.

“It’s okay now Jessica! You are safe” Hobbs whispered and held me.

“Thank you!” I whispered and Hobbs gave me a small smile.

“Let Dom know she is safe, we’re taking her back to the house” said Hobbs to the men in the front seat. A guy with dark skin took up a phone and called. I did not hear much of what he said but I guessed he talked to Dominic or Brian. The man who drove slowed down and stopped outside Dominic’s house. Hobbs carried me inside. As we stepped thru the door Mia threw herself at us. Crying she hugged me as Hobbs put me down.

“Are you okay?” Mia asked in panic. I nodded slowly. A small smile appeared on my face. It was a long time ago someone cared about me this much.

“I’m okay Mia! How about you?”

“I’m fine!” she said with a big smile. I looked around. Mia seemed to be the only one here.

“Where is Dom?” I asked looking around. “And Brian?” Mia’s smile weakened.

“They are racing against Jimmy…” she said flatly. Fear flashed in her eyes. I turned to Hobbs.

“How could you let them do that? You know about Jimmy!” I said angrily.

“It was the best diversion we could think of” Hobbs said easily. “Jimmy might be a crazy fuck, but Dom knows what he is doing” he continued.

“But what if Jimmy finds out you have already taken me, what will he do then?” the panic rose inside me. Dom could be killed. And it was all because of me. If something happened to him, I would never forget myself. With that thought in my mind, the door opened. Brian and Dom walked in and my heart stopped. They where bloody and dirty. A deep cut ran thru Dom’s left eyebrow and the blood ran down his cheek. Without a word Mia ran to the kitchen and came back with two towels. She handed over one to each of them. Staying a little longer in front of Brian holding his hand. I slowly walked up to Dom. Scanning him from tip to toe. With the towel against his eye he puled me into a one armed hug. Held me for all he was worth.

“I’m going to kill him” Dominic muttered against my ear.

“Please do” I whispered. A little surprised by the rage inside me.

“What happened to the two of you?” Hobbs asked. Brian gave Dom a look and he let go of me. He went out the door again. Mia and I exchanged strange looks before Dom came back. Dom dragged a man with him inside.

“Lets just say, this guy happened” Dom said and pushed the guy in the room. I froze.

“He might not look like much, but he fights like hell” Brian explained. But I did not see Brian. My eyes were on the man in front of me. A part of me was glad it wasn’t Jimmy.  But the rest made me scared to my bones, because this person was even worse. The man in front me was my own brother.
