Ghost Walk

19 3 2

My feet fell lightly
Like dust on a shelf
As I passed through halls
That jutted straight out
Line after line,
Controlling my movements,
Jostling me against people
I couldn't reach,
As I walked along,
Ghost-like.

I had to leave.

Into the woods I would go
Feet falling heavily onto green or snow
I only paused to remark a break
In the trees
That showed
The water
And I wanted to run with it,
But suddenly my feet were planted
to the ground.
I became still
like the trees I so revered
When I was
Alone

Your call came to me
Before I could go on,
And surpised I stood there,
Seen

And realizing the sun was beaming through my dark woodland dome,
I let you walk towards me
Puzzled at you for being puzzled by me
I let you walk along
Until you said you
Could walk no more
And sensing that you were giving me a choice,
I knew then what you
wanted me to do.

I had to leave.

And so, with you, I did.
