LEON'S POV:

My dark brown boots step on the charred debris with a crunch and some shuffling. My right index finger flips a small switch-- turning the flashlight on my handgun on. The smell trapped in this place could be hazardous. Not going to take any chances. The gas mask was strapped on before I entered inside the facility. My eyes scan my surroundings-- it was pitch black in here, it was also too quiet.

As I continue walking in further, my shoulders were tense-- my handgun at my side but ready to fire if anything comes my way.

Nothing was left of this place, it'd been destroyed. I highly doubt I'll find any traces of anything to bring back to get analyzed. The sample wasn't enough--wasn't the one-- wasn't exactly what we're looking for. I follow the beam from my flashlight, seeing nothing but broken lab equipment, burnt medical papers. A sound of a piece of glass crunching caught my ear-- my body quickly turned to my right, handgun aimed right for the target.

That target happens to be two-hundred-sixteen-pound man dressed in heavy gear. The light was flashed right at his eyes, his assault rifle laser aimed right at my chest. I chuckle through the mask, lowering down my handgun light.

(Leon)- " Gotta work on your sneak attack"

(Chris)- "I wouldn't have missed the shot anyway" he lightly chuckles through his mask. He lowers his rifle aiming his light elsewhere other than my eyes. I continue in the direction-- keeping an eye on what I'm looking for.

(Leon)- "Didn't think we'd team up so soon"

(Chris)- " Yeah well.." he trailed off.

Everything on this level was gone-- I'm not going to find anything here. Might as well check the next.

(Leon)- " Everything in here is already gone. We should move to the lower levels" I change my footing and start to fall back. Chris nodded and follows behind. There in the other rooms were Chris' unit. Searching for what I'm looking for. This is a new threat we're dealing with, the BSAA had to be brought in. I roll my shoulders-- could have done this sweep up alone.

Chris and I took the stairs  down to the lower levels. My foot slows its pace, nothing but water dripping and echoes. This lower level is leaking-- which means the next level below must be flooded. This is going to take a lot longer than I thought.

Walking in with my handgun down to my side.

(Chris)- " Aren't you even gonna ask?" I look over my shoulder, Chris not giving me any eye contact. Turning my head back and focus on what my mission is. I know what he's talking about, it's about her.

(Leon)- " No. I'm not."

(Chris)- "Aren't you a little curious?" I stop my footing, keeping a strong stance.

(Leon)- " I have a mission to do."I say with stern tone gripping the handle of my handgun, the thought of it slightly stings. My feet continue on keeping a slow pace, slowly searching each room. Everything in the upper levels are the same down here. Our boots step on water puddles-- making a tap,tap with each step.

He had to go and say it without even mentioning her name. I hate that I just left her like that....but it had to be done. Seeing how much she suffered and sacrificed-- I told her not to get wrapped up in my world. This was my fault.

That guy who was at her doorstep that night. He was giving me a look that I was giving him-- Who the hell was he?

(Chris)- " I'm thinking of offering her a spot in the BSAA. My unit." My index finger twitched. This is what I don't want to hear or know about.

But that is not my concern anymore. I have my orders.

(Leon)-  "Chris."

(Chris)-  "She's good on her combat skills, she knows how to protect herself" I know she can, but she's still has a lot of training to do. I know Chris will train her as good as he is.

(Leon)- "This isn't the time, Chris"

(Chris)- " Right. She's not your concern anymore." I stopped my footing--neck twitched. That's right-- she's not.

(Leon)- " You hear that?" I raise my fist, signaling him to open his ears to hear what I'm hearing. Nothing but silence-- but I know what I heard.  My index and middle finger press into my right ear over the gas mask.

(Leon)- " Hunnigan."

(Hunnigan)- " There's some movement near your location. It's moving fast."

(Leon)- "shit." I cursed under my breath. I thought they were wiped out from the explosion-- I guess some things never change.

(Chris)-  "This way. I hear it in this direction" Chris leads through the dark, leaky hallway-- following face to keep up with his pace. The growls echo-- its getting louder. Chris continues leading us to a large room-- I remember this area. Almost didn't make it out in time. Our lights didn't cover anything-- just a tiny view of whats in front of us.

(Chris)- "There!" he fires his weapon-- multiple shots firing in the darkness. These things-- they're different. They're way too fast!

(Leon)- " Watch yourself, these aren't the ones you're familiar with!" I warned. I turned around--- my back pressed up against his.

Back to back--covering each other.

(Chris)-" How do you want to do this?"

(Leon)- " We don't know how many there are" My handgun waving around-- trying to find the one that lured us here.  This all seems familiar.

(Chris)- " I got it in my sights" How can he know for sure? I moved forward away from his back, the thing jumps around-- trying to remember its pattern. Something caught my attention-- the way it was moving and jumping around near the south of us.

(Leon)- " Chris. Cover me!"
