CHAPTER TWENTY ONE: Lights Out

Is two chapters all right for today? 

I think so xD 

I just wanna get to the good parts already.

(Time Skip)

Lucas took over the wheel, making a sharp left turn. I hang onto the handle above the passenger side window to keep me from smashing my head against the window. Leon's voice echoes in my ears, hearing him say 'Thanks' with his usual throat chuckle. I Can't get him out of my head. The way his hair covers his eyes, his cool composure-- I just hate that he won't talk to me on what's going on.

Why is he breaking orders? What did he do?

(Lucas)- "That guy's got some nerve" he spoke through the silence. 

(Lucas)- "Who is that guy? What's your relationship with him?" he asks turning his head eyeing me before he looks back to the road. I face my head towards the window not looking at him. Leon is many things-- why is he asking me when I don't know how to answer to that. He and I may be close-- but I don't know exactly how close. There has been a few times where we... our moments-- but it always gets interrupted. 

(Y/n)- " I owe him my life.." I mumbled. I owe him everything, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for him. I couldn't help but grin to myself. Come to think of it-- we did have some great moments together-- even when facing some enemies at that time. 

(Lucas)- "You don't owe him shit" he cursed.

(Y/n)- "You don't understand." I say with a power in my voice. My head whips around viewing him--- he looks at me through the corner of his eyes. Leon and I have gone through a lot-- faced many life and death situations.Lucas doesn't understand anything, parasites, viruses-- Leon saved me, and somewhere around that I saved him. 

(Lucas)- "Make me understand then. Tell me who and what he is" he said with a deep tone-- not taking his eyes off the road-- with a firm expression on his face.

I blink a few times, this is a side of him I haven't seen yet. he's always smiling, playful-- this is  him being... slightly protective and wanting to understand. 

I'm sorry, Lucas. I can't tell you. 

(Y/n)- " I can't." he doesn't say a word, only air escapes his mouth. 

There. There's the homeless shelter. The owner, Katey, stands outside holding herself in her arms with a look of concern and distressed.

(Y/n)- " Katey looks upset." He puts the SUV in park and stays silent.

(Lucas)- "Wait here" I raise a brow at him. He exits out the vehicle-- slamming the door a little too hard. I watch him approach Katey, seeing her run her fingers through her white hair.

What the hell has gotten into Lucas? What made him so upset? Not telling him about Leon? He has no right to be mad at me. 

I'm not gonna sit here while he does my job for me. I unbuckle my seatbelt and exit out the car. His head turns around to the car once he hears the car door closes.

Katey looks my way but doesn't know who to give the information to. 

(Y/n)- "What's the problem, Katey?" I ask politely.

(Katey)- "These three gentlemen came in a few hours ago-- they were causing trouble for the other people. Knocking things over-- breaking things, smashing the walls. I've told them several times to stop or I'll call the police. They behaved but they started to act very oddly."
