CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN: Don't Ask, Don't Tell

LEON'S POV:

Surprisingly its warm out today, the breeze flew by-- making my bangs swing with the wind. I look down at my device, nothing. I raise my head viewing people walking around, entering local shops. It's peaceful here, this is what should've been for her--nothing to do with viruses and BOW's. It's too late.

What if she was meant to be a part of this? 

No. 

She deserves better than this-- not a life like mine. A life that she could be surrounded by friends--people she cares for, being a police officer to help people, having a family. I sigh at the thought of what she's throwing away, but a little grin peeks from the corner of my mouth. She doesn't give up either-- always making things difficult for me. 

I look down at the device again--viewing a new message. I nodded to myself, times up. I stand from leaning on the fender of the vehicle. Those two haven't been able to track me down, they traced (Y/n) by her phone. My contact informed me they would be stopping by at her place eventually.  They're gonna have to be a little quicker than that. I walk down the block, my hands in my pockets. I glance-- window shopping as I walk on by, I'd go inside if I had the time. 

I wonder if she handled them, did she give me away? I wouldn't be surprised if she did. Probably still upset with me. I half smirked, she's changed. She's always changing-- but what she did last night was unlike her. 

(Voice)- "There's something I don't see everyday.." That voice. I can't seem to forget that voice even if I tried. I chuckle in my throat, not turning to face the voice. 

(Leon)- "It's good to see you too" I turn around to see dark short black hair, red framed sunglasses, a dark red long sleeve dress with black tights and black knee high boots. 

Ada Wong. 

She looked well. she pulls the tinted sunglasses to the bridge of her nose-- gazing at me with her brown eyes. 

(Ada)- "Sit with me" she waves her hand to a private table outside a small cafe. Ada took a seat and crossed her legs. I sat across from her on the wooden chair and made myself comfortable but not letting my guard down. Ada looks into me--studying my composure. I don't want to waste anymore time. 

(Leon)- "What do you have for me?" I started first. 

(Ada)- "Straight to the point" she tilted her head. 

(Leon)- "I don't want to draw any attention to us" 

(Ada)-" It must be thrilling for you to be on the run." She grins.

(Leon)- "I'm not running. I'm doing my mission my way, once it's over I'll comply to the consequences of my actions" Ada tilts her head again. 

(Ada)- "This is different." I smirk with a chuckle. 

(Leon)- "Let's get on with it" 

(Ada)- "Leon, you still got a lot to learn. Take it from someone who's been on the run--working for the unknown." My brow slightly twitched. 

(Leon)- "Get to the point, Ada" Where is she going with this?

(Ada)- "You've been followed" I straightened my back, could those two have tracked me down? No, they couldn't have. There can only be only one, it's her. 

(Leon)- " Hmmph"

(Ada)- " Don't tell me you're losing you're touch, or is age catching up with you?" she grins widely now with soft chuckles. I tilt my head with a smirk. 

(Ada)- " I'll take care of it" she scoots out of the chair before she heads off-- I look over my shoulder to speak. 

(Leon)- " Ada" her boot heels come to a stop. 

(Ada)- " Hmm?" 

(Leon)- "She doesn't know anything" 

(Ada)-" She knows nothing?" 

(Leon)- " No." 

(Ada)- " Why are you keeping her in the dark?" 

(Leon)- " It's safer that way." 

(Ada)- " For you or for her?"  I exhale air out, keeping myself silent. 

(Ada)- " You can't keep her in the dark, Leon. You may think you're protecting her...but in reality-- you're causing harm to her and to yourself." It's rare hearing Ada speak that don't involve the world ending, I don't know if it'll change my mind. 

(Ada)- " Do yourself a favor, spend time with that poor girl. Now that you have time on your hands" Her boot heels tap, tap, tap, away leaving me on my own. 

Shit. 

Knowing Ada-- she's tricky sometimes. She could reveal the truth to (Y/n). I'm hoping Ada doesn't give it all away. If she were to, I hope It leaves me enough to explain myself.
