I open my eyes with a jolt and realize I was sleeping on the bus again. Its only when I notice I'm hearing cheerful voices all around me that I realize I'm at school. The bus driver glares at me for now I'm the last on the bus. "You plan on getting off, sonny?" she asks. I nod and quickly get my things together before racing off the bus at top speed. As I walk up the path to the school, I notice that the leaves have already changed colors and that fall is coming upon us quite fast actually. The bell rings and I start to run. After only a few steps I trip and fall flat on my face.

The pain quickly spreads throughout my body and I distinctly feel warm blood flowing from my left wrist. "Great," I say to myself, because it's just what I need to start my day off wrong. I lie there on the ground for a few minutes watching feet walking by my head and ignoring me, half hoping two of those feet will turn back around and ask if I'm okay. But I know no one will. No one ever does.

Eventually the late bell rings, so I pick myself up and start to head towards the school. On a whim I turn around and notice a small piece of paper on the ground I turn around and pick it up. Upon further inspection I realize it is a tiny paper crane. I smile and put it in my pocket until I find who it's original owner is.

The hallways are completely empty as I walk to my first block, it's just how I like the school. Empty and quiet. No one to remind me of the fact that there are others who do exist. It's just me, my bag, and this new paper crane.

"¿Senior Orizaga?" My first class of the day is Spanish, a class I generally excel at considering my grandparents parents are fluid in both Spanish and English. "Why are you so late?"

"Lo siento, Señora," I reply. I hang my head and then continue to my spot in the back corner of the class. She gives me a pitying smile and starts class. She talks for what feels like hours, but I don't pay any attention to anything she says. Instead I'm wondering about the crane in my pocket.

Hello, I'm trying something new! I am definitely going to be editing this and honestly I don't expect this story to be super long. Editing is a must on this because I have absolutely no planning so don't expect this first draft to make Much sense lol. Why am I updating a FIRST DRAFT you may ask? Well, see I really want/need feedback on how to make this story better so please help out with that however you can! I already see some problems with this chapter lmaooooo. For example: whats the character's first name? Also, for the record this is only 403 words! Welp...this'll be an adventure for all of us. See you tmr with an update. Updates will be almost daily to force me to write!
