Chapter 14

~Phoebe~

*******Back home*******

I was glad that joe came to find me but it made me more scared, even though I felt so safe when I was with joe, I felt worse, I felt like I needed to escape.

"Joe, come sit down"

"Coming" he replied

He sat down next to me and held my hand.

"So phebs, what's wrong?"

"Joe, I'm so so sorry" I said with tears rolling down my face, joe pulled me into his arms. "It's max"

I heard that name and I stopped. That guy is such a dickhead! He ruined phebs life once and I won't let him do it again. Three years ago, phoebe was with this guy called max, he seemed alright at the time, he got along well with everyone even her family. But then on the night of their year anniversary, max took phoebe out for a meal. But while they were driving to the restaurant, max stopped off at phebs family home, he got out of the car and ordered phoebe to get out as well. He walked into the house and dragged phoebes 10 year old sister out of the house and screamed in her ear in front of phoebe. "REBECCA! REBECCA! TELL YOU GORGEOUS SISTER WHAT IVE BEEN DOING!" Rebecca didn't say a word, she stood there. She had tears down her face, phoebe was in tears. Then he pulled out a gun and screamed in her ear again. "REBECCA TELL YOUR SISTER WHAT I HAVE DONE AND I WONT SHOOT YOU!" She begged for mercy and phoebe screamed and cried, max pulled the trigger back but didn't let go, then Rebecca screamed with tears, "HE RAPPED ME AND MUM 5 TIMES, HE FORCED US TO BE NICE TO HIM OR HE WOULD KILL US AND YOU" phoebe broke down, she fell to the floor. Max pointed the gun to the floor and let go of the trigger so he shot the floor. He simply said " good girl Rebecca..... But I'm afraid I can't let you live now you have told people what I have done." He then shot her right in the head and Rebecca collapsed and died right there. Phoebe was crying so much. She got up and tried to run away but max pointed the gun at her and tied her to the garden fence. "I'm not done yet babe" he whispered I'm her ear" max went to the back of the car and got some gasoline and fireworks, he set the house on fire with fireworks on it with phoebes mum and dad still inside. Phoebe cried so so much, she tried to move and escape but she simply couldn't. Max went up to phoebe and whispered in her ear "I'll be back" he left phoebe there stranded.

"What about max" I asked confused

"He's out of prison, he contacted me and followed me in America" she cried in my arms "he's found me and he won't stop till he gets me, this is why I left last time. I don't want him to harm any of us"

I was speechless, I was terrified but I new I had to stay strong for phebs "look, we can make it through this, we will do everything to get him away. I don't care if I get In trouble with the police, I will keep you safe, okay?"

"Okay" she simply said but I knew it meant a lot more than okay.
