So now I've finally come to see what the galaxy has in store for me
The winding wisps of star debris
The freezing cold of the galaxy
The comfort you gave but had taken away
As I sat there in my mind to lay
Reciting the poem I wrote before
I heard a knock upon my doorOne knock, two knock, three knock, four
I mustered the courage to open the door
There I stood looking at myself, but this time
I was in Better healthMy doppelgänger looked into my eyes and began to speak with melodic cries
Of how she found a brand new star
The star of self forgiveness
And the star of light
She told me to reflect, then whisperedGoodnight.
I took a moment to hear her song, her words not short, but never too long
She spoke with grace and soft remorse
Realizing that I was the her before the choice
The choice of shedding this old thick skin
For a kinder, newer, type of friend
This friend was named hope
Someone who I thought I had lost
Hope now shown me through the thick galaxy layers of frost
I felt spring began to soar, as birds chirped and my heart roared
I hopped into bed for one last summer flight
As I whispered to my older selfGoodnight.
