'Fetch boy', the last words I spoke before my life changed forever.
The park was deserted so I threw the ball hard. My dog,Lawrence, just stood there looking at me with gorgeous brown eyes that could melt your heart. I had to repeat the words "Fetch boy!" five times before he understood, and even then I had to go with him to collect the ball.
I got about half way to the ball when I was stopped short by a metallic glint in the grass. It was then that I heard the low snarling coming from behind me. Lawrence had never made that sound before, something was wrong.
I walked forward to uncover more if the strange object. After a few minutes of pulling and straing I yanked the object out of the ground. I took one look at it and panic rose within me as realisation washed over me. My first thought; was the pin still there?
Somehow, keeping my wits about me I gently put it down and ran, Lawrence at my heels. My earlier question was answered as I reached the edge of the park.
