The Party

I feel definitely happy, and Kaycee just happens to heighten that factor. If you would've come up to me last year, I wouldn't of even believed it was possible to feel this good about just about everything. As much as I can't believe it took this long to get here, I've known her since we were tweens and she's always been my best friend. I know it seems typical for a guy and a girl to become boyfriend and girlfriend after being best friends for a bit, but we really couldn't help it. It's apparent we were just crushing on one another for years, desperate to keep the other one from finding out.

Now as much as I love talking to her, and I do, she's been giving me short answers all day which concerns me. It's after dinner time, and I text her asking if I could call her seeing as I'm a little bit worried and want to make sure she's okay. A few minutes later I finally get a text back.

Kaycee: sorry, i can't tonight it's not that i don't want to

Me: and why's that???

Kaycee: I'm going to a party tonight jey

Aaand there it was. Another party.

Me: with who?

Kaycee: you're not my dad, Richie and a couple of my other friends are coming with me

AAAND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE she goes with Richie? Of all the people in the world?

Me: whatever

Kaycee: you don't need to be rude 🙄

Me: you know i don't like Richie, she just fuels your self destructive behavior like fire and oil

Kaycee: she's fine and so am I, you've always been jealous of her

Me: your blowing off your boyfriend for her and some trashy ass party!

Kaycee: JEYDON I WILL CALL YOU tomorrow night deal?

Me: yeah keep texting me. I want to keep talking to you and make sure you're safe.

Kaycee: definitely Jeydon

Kaycee: I love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜

I was pretty sad about where she was going and the fact I wasn't going to hear her voice.... it's whatever what're you going to do. God she just melts my heart sometimes.

Me: I love you too💙💙💙

Kaycee's P.O.V

I'm in the car on the way to the party, matter of fact I'm almost there I'm pretty sure. As I promised jeydon, I'll keep texting him even when I'm there just to give him some peace of mind.

A few minutes later, me and my friends step out of the car and go inside. It's almost INSTANTANEOUS.

"Hereeee take some brandy kayc!"

Good god. If Jeydon talks to me drunk he'll be livid.

"I'm fine." I say before walking the other way into the bigger living room where most of the people were.

I can NOTTT drink

Or smoke anything of any kind.

Jesus this feels like it might be hard, but Jeydon is really important to me.

I'm in the middle of a conversation with Richie and Calli, when one of the guys comes in with a tray full of Jell-O shots.

And as if the universe was against me, my friends and I were one of the groups he came up to.
