The day starts in on the 2nd week of school. It's a crisp clear day that finds two young high school boys bumping into each other
Lance: (bumps into someone in the hall, drops his few books) Ah! I'm sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going!
James: No worries, love. Here let me help ya with ye books.
Lance: (blushes) I-it's okay! I can do it m-myself! (hurries to pick his books up.)
James: Oh please it would be no trouble. (gets down and helps Lance pick his books up)
Lance:Th-thanks then. . .
James: (chuckles) no problem. Hey my name's James. (hands Lance his books)
Lance: (takes the books) Thanks again. . .My name's Lance. . .(the bell rings) Ah! I'm gonna be late! (Takes off running, a paper falls out of his books, has an address on it)
James: (hurries to pick up the paper before it gets stepped on. He reads it to see if it's important and finds that is an address. He decides to put it in his pocket and find Lance at lunch.)
Later at Lunch in a hallway
Lance: (worried) Ah, did I drop it around here? I need that paper. . . I don't want to end up worrying Kat again! She'll definitely beat me up this time!
Mr. Lander: Did you drop something lad?
Lance: (Scared) Eek! U-um I-I um!
James: Dad! Hey sorry I'm late. But I was looking for someone.
Mr. Lander: No worries son. Here come help this lad for me and I'll meet ya in my classroom.
James: Yeah, okay. (looks to Lance) Oh! Hey I was looking for ya. Lance, right, I found this when you ran off. Looked important.
Lance: (suddenly hugs James) Thank you Thank you Thank you! I really didn't want to get beat up today! (realizes what he's doing, steps away) Ah! sorry!
James: (blushes a bit) Uh it's fine. Glad I could help. (thinks for a moment) Who's going to beat you up?
Lance: (rubs the back of his neck) My lil' sis. . .She is well. . .How to put it. . .overprotective?
James: (snickers a little) Ya get beat up by yer lil' sister.
Lance: (pouts) It's not funny! She's super strong for a middle schooler!
James: (actually laughs) Sorry. But I know the feeling. My lil' cousin Peter is one hell of a fighter. We like to wrestle a lot. I win some, he wins some. So whatever.
Lance: Really. . .Ah I just remembered that I need to talk to the counselor since I'm a new student! Dang it!
James: Oh you mean Ms.Katty. She's usually in the lunchroom. Want me to take you to her?
Lance: If that's okay? Didn't you have to talk to that teacher?
James: Oh yeah. Well I can always talk to Mr.Lander at home. He's my dad so, yeah. (laughs nervously) I'm sure he'll be fine. Come on.
Lance: . . .Okay? (follows James)
(walks to the lunchroom. After 5 minutes of looking James spots Ms. Katty)
James: Hey! Agnes.
Lance: (Partially hiding behind James, mutters) So many people. . . way too many. . .
James: (grabs Lances hand) Hey, are you alright?
Lance: (blushes at the fact they're basically holding hands) Y-yes. . .I just don't care for crowds.
