Talon looked at his mother's grave stone. It was quite poetic how both of his parents had died defending their own kingdom. Her grave was right next to his fathers. Talon laid down a singular white rose on the grave.

"Sleep well, dear mother," He said. The kingdom had fallen into his hands now. But it was far too heavy of a responsibility for Talon. He was not prepared to take over. He was crowned king on the same day of his mother's funeral. Talon took of the crown that was resting on his head. He looked at it with a blank expression. This crown was worn by his father, but Talon was absolutely sure his father never even wore it. So, in a fit of anger Talon threw the royal object as far as he could. Then he sighed. Why was fate this cruel to him? Talon heard footsteps behind him. Kendrix was walking to him, holding the crown he had just hurled across the garden.

"You must not be throwing such thinks around Talon," she said. Talon didn't even look at her.

"Leave me," He said rudely, "I am not in the mood to currently commune with anyone." Kendrix stepped closer to him.

"Your sadness is understandable. Believe me, I too am mourning your mother's death. But you must now take charge of your kingdom otherwise it'll crumble into ruins," Kendrix explained gently. Talon knew she was right as usual. Even though his mother was now dead, he had to step up as a king. Talon turned to face Kendrix and took the crown from her hand.

"Then I guess the time has come. I will rule this kingdom well. For my mother's sake..." Talon started to walk towards the throne room. However, Kendrix stopped him with her hand. Then she smiled at him lightly.

"Do you really think that is what I meant?" Kendrix asked. Talon looked at her confused. Kendrix removed the crown from his head. "This is not the life that was written for you, and even your mother knew this," At this sentence, Talons eyes opened wide.

"What do you mean?" he demanded. Kendrix gestured her hand for Talon to follow her. They walked slowly through the castle until the reached a dead end. Or so Talon though. Kendrix put her hand to the wall and said something silently. The wall started to shake and split apart. The wall led into a passageway with a long downwards staircase. The stairs were lit with torches which hung from the walls. The two walked down into the passage. The stone walls were pitch black. Talon couldn't see a thing. He could only see the step that he had to walk on.

"Kendrix, what is this place?" Talon asked, his head still turning from side to side looking around. Kendrix didn't reply. Shortly after, they had reached the end of their walk. They stopped in front of a door. It was covered in dust, clearly it had not been used in a long time. Kendrix reached into her deep pocket and took out an old and rusted key. She placed it into the key hole. The door opened with a loud clanking noise. Talon looked over Kendrix's shoulder trying to see what was hidden inside the room. However, his vision was impaled as the room behind the door was very dark as the staircase was. Kendrix put her hand near her mouth and whispered some words. At that moment, her hand burst into flame. She then aimed her hand at the ceiling of the room. The fire left her hand and went into a chandelier lighting it up. With that, the whole room was visible now. It was a nearly empty room. The only things inside it where a little table with a mixture of old and new parchments and a glass case with a shining set of armour with a sword in its hands.

"This is a chamber that was built hear from the request of your father," Kendrix said, "It was used as a congregation spot for the kings most loyal companions," she added. Talon walked slowly into the room.

"Why are you showing this to me now?" he asked bewildered that such a chamber even exists.

"Your mother would come down here and remind her self of the old times," Kendrix said looking around as if she herself hadn't been down here for a long time too. Then Talon remembered what Kendrix had said earlier.
