"Argh! The sun is so hot today!" Aaron shouted pulling out a bottle of water and chugging it down. Talon and his companions had set out to find the first half of the king's stone. They had been travelling for a day now and were on their way to Cirinvolia. Talon studied the map.
"At this pace we will arrive in Cirinvolia by dark," he said to Girand, pointing at the map. They rode on a few more hours before making there stop near an old apple tree next to the road. The three got off their horses and unloaded their rations. Suddenly Aaron gasped.
"My supplies are gone! Where did they go?" Girand went over and pocked his son hard in the stomach.
"Me guess would be in your stomach," Girand said frustrated. He glared at his son. Aaron glared back. It hadn't struck Talon until know to notice how poorly those two got on. Aaron gritted his teeth. He looked like he was about to unleash another insult and his father. Swiftly Talon stepped in between them.
"Now now, there is no need for this hostility. We will just have to simply stop by in a village on the way and re-stock," That had seemed to disarm the situation. After a short stare the two walked to the other sides of the camp.
"This is only making the journey even longer," Girand grumbled. Aaron didn't reply. In fact, he didn't even look at his father. He just sat down under the apple tree and hit it with incredible might. It shook from the blow. Soon after, an apple fell straight into Aarons hand. Once he did he took a tremendous bite out of it. Talon decided not to sit near either of them as they seemed too angry to be seeking company. So, he sat down leaning his back on Deros, who had gently seated himself on the ground. Talon closed his eyes and started to think. His mind wandered back to the encounter he had with the griffon back in Ker Halda. Ralk re ud ran negi sedom iv. What could that mean? Then, as if on a rollercoaster his mind went onto the Dark Prince. That evil scumbag who was responsible for all this mess. Talon smirked. In a way, he was grateful to the Dark Prince. If not for his actions, Talon would still be in the castle walls of Shinnerok living his boring old life. But that changed nothing about the fact that Talon hated the Dark Prince with the power and heat of a thousand suns. He would avenge his mother by driving his sword into his side. Talon could see his mother. Gorgeous, elegant but the best of all, alive. She was looking at him with warm eyes gently repeating: Talon. Talon was wrapped in the strong embrace of emotion. He was drawing closer to his mother. Closer and closer, her voice grew with volume. But, strangely, her voice was also becoming deeper and deeper. The voice began to echo in his mind. Out of nowhere, the dimension Talon had found himself in began to shake ever so slightly. His name was now calling to him from ever side. Talon opened his eyes wide. He looked around to see Aaron standing over him, holding onto his shoulders.
"Finally!" He smiled "It's not the time to sleep just yet!" Talon stood up slowly. It seems all his daydreaming had made him fall asleep. Still, it was an enjoyable dream, Talon thought to himself.
The sun had disappeared behind the horizon leaving the lord of the night, the moon and his legion of stars to watch over the beings of the earth. Girand took out his mini telescope.
"I see a village up ahead. Which one is it?"
"That's Naroth."
"That'll be good. We will re-stock there. Best get some rest now though, because we won't find any inns with room in them this late in the night," Girand turned to face them. "Boy! Fetch some fire wood!" Aaron didn't move.
"Didn't ya hear me? Get some wood NOW!" He ordered. Aaron clenched his fists and went into the small wood next to them. Girand sat down and put his hand over his face. Talon sat down near him.
"Why are you so hard on him? He tries his best,"
"Ay, I know he does. He's a strong lad. But I'm hard on him because I'm scared. Scared of losing him too." Girand paused. "Talon. If something were to happen to me, will ya help Aaron when he needs ya?" Talon sat there silent. It sounded strange to him that he was to take care for someone of the same age as him.
"He is strong. But if anything, I will have his back. If it come to combat or emotions," Talon said.
"Thank ya," Aaron emerged from the wood and placed it in front of them. Talon easily set it a light and they all got warm near it. After some time, Girand arose.
"I'll keep a look out during the night. You never know who would lurking around these parts. You two get some rest," And saying that he went away without another word. Aaron sighed deeply. Talon looked at him caringly.
"He really loves you you know," Aaron grinned.
"Yeah, well he has a weird way of showing it," They looked at each other. Aaron gave Talon a sad smile and lay down on the floor and closed his eyes. Talon decided to do as Aaron and get some rest before tomorrow.
Naroth was a tiny little village with only about 200 people living in it. Talon and his companions entered a little shop. Inside was a plump woman and a plump man.
"Good day to you sir," exclaimed the woman. "What brings you to Naroth?" Girand began to speak and entered the shop. What they talked about later was unknown since Talon and Aaron waited outside.
"You know, this is a nice place. If I ever get old I hope to retire to here someday," Aaron smiled. Talon could see his reasoning. It was a nice small town, so it was very quiet. Also, it just had a really nice vibe to it. A little boy no less than the age of 6 ran up to the two.
"I wanna be big and strong like you when I get tall," he warbled pointing at Aaron. Aaron kneeled down in front of him.
"Thanks kid but know that it's not always about strength. Sometimes you gotta be strong up here," He gently tapped the boy on the head. Aaron then gestured Talon "Try being like this guy. Be super smart like him and super strong like me and no one will stop you," The boy gave off a heart warming smile. A young woman ran up to them.
"Roman! What did I tell you about running away? Sorry if he caused you any trouble," she said pulling the little boy away. Talon smiled.
"Not at all. He was very kind to us. He's been brought up well," The girl blushed slightly. Her long raven black hair shone in the morning sun. She had sparkling blue eyes. They were unique, almost rivalling Talons. She had perfect skin. This girl... was beautiful. A beauty so true it was as amazing as his mothers.
"What brings you hear? I know everyone here in Naroth and yours is a face I haven't seen before."
"We are travelling to Cirinvolia on important business. We had to stop to refill our supplies." Talon explained. "And you are? You didn't mention your name,"
"I am Marlize. What's your-"An unexpected sound erupted at the city entrance. A bomb of some sort had beenset off. And from the smoke, emerged a group of people.
