11) Music Festival

The time has come, the music festival arrived. Everyone was waiting for this day, mostly because it's a night of fun.
I mean what more can you ask for?
It's simply a whole day with your friends simply to enjoy the music, there were ranged events within the festival.
Plus teachers were also invited since the year was going to end, it was like a end of year festival.
I don't seem to care about it only to know that people like the idea and enjoy the time.
That's what they expect from me as a student body for the school.

All my friends, the set up crew and I were at the venue. The Student body Principle was going to do a introduction speech, but Jihyo said she was going to do something special at the end as well. I don't know what to expect, but it's probably big.

"The students are starting to come." Jeongyeon spoke.
"Great, its time to get started." Jihyo went up stage with all the instruments set up for the bands.
I saw from all sides that there were a lot of students coming, it was a good thing we rented out the whole venue and even more space.

We waited for more people to come, when it got to a point where less people were seen entering that's when we started.
First off was Park Jihyo.
"Thank you all for being here today, students, teachers. We've been planning this after the prom and liked the idea behind if it. It did take sometime, but we got here."
She continued,

"I really want to thank to Yoo Jeongyeon and Im Nayeon and Kim Dahyun for being part of the Student Council. They've worked worked hard to keep the school's reputation and we all are proud of that. But this may not have been done without the helps of Dahyun's parents who have funded us the money to make this happen and so let's get Dahyun out here."

I suddenly froze as she said my name again. Everyone in the crowd roared and clasped their hands together, shouting my name.
Jihyo was waiting... everyone was waiting.
"Go up there, I'll be waiting for you." Momo smiled gave me a bit of confidence, a sense of comfort.
I went up the stage just to see thousands of people crowding around.

"Well...uh..." I gulped. Just speak from he heart.
"First of all, I really am thankful for all my friends for supporting and all of you guys who have waited for this music festival for ages. I just really want to say that this year has been tough for people and this month especially was hard for Momo."

I looked at Momo's direction.

"Some of you may know that Momo's mother past away and of course it was hard to live through, but with all her friends beside her she was recovering. She also never left my side." I paused.
"I'm not here to tell you to be sad, I'm here to tell you that even though we're going through hard times, we should cherish the people around us. It may be different, but sometimes the people around you are help."

"That was well said." A familiar voice came from the side.
"Mom? Dad?"
The audience gasped.
"We're here for the festival." My dad said.
"You're back?" I was confused.
"Yes, your friends called us and said to come here and not tell Dahyun."

Those sneaky lot. I love them.

I could hear the crowd mumble.
"Let's the music festival begin!"

.
Few of the performers were finished and it was half way through the night.
We decided to set aside the performance and go to more of a quiet place.
"Let's play a game." Tzuyu suggested.
"Okay, what is it?"

"Everyone makes a circle and one person stands in the middle and is blindfolded. The person in the middle spins around for 10 seconds, they stop and walk towards a person and when they finally stop, they take off their blindfold and the person in front of them is said to be their love of their life."

Everyone stood in confusion, some were not having it.
"Where did you come up with that?" Sana asked.
"I just know."
There weren't anymore ideas so we just took Tzuyu's instead even if it shows strange.
We formed a circle and waited.

"We should pick someone." Jihyo spoke.
"Okay, I pick Dahyun." Chaeyoung blurted out.
"What?! Why me?" I raised my voice.
"Because you're the CEO's daughter."
They all chuckled.
That's not even a real reason.

I didn't retaliate, they all seem to be on board now since I was picked.
"Don't worry about it, it's just a game. Tzuyu's love of your life thing is probably not true." Nayeon smiled.
"Well you'll be surprised." Tzuyu handed me a blindfold which I wrapped around my eyes.

"What do I do now?" I asked.
"Spin around."
I spun around just like they said and they counted until it was 10.
"5...4...3...2...1!"
"Stop."
Next I needed to walk, I was still dizzy and staggered as I started to walk to the right of me not knowing who it was.

What was unsettling was that my friends were quiet, only the music and the crowd from afar was heard.
"Stop!"
I suddenly stopped and they were still silent, it was scary.
"Now take off your blindfold."

I untied the blindfold and looked up. She looked as shocked as I was.
"Maybe she was telling the truth." Chaeyoung said.
"I told you."
Momo smiled and held my hand.
"Looks like you are the love of my life."
I blushed a little.

"Woah, wait!" Sana shouted.
Both me and Momo turned towards her.
"What?"
"I swear I saw a shooting star."
"You're joking, right?" Jeongyeon crossed her arms.
"She wasn't, I saw it as well." Mina chuckled.
"That could be a sign." Tzuyu said.
"Or it may be an asteroid that's going to strike the earth."
Everyone glanced over to Jihyo.
"I'm joking, but we never know."

Momo's eyes moved down to my neck and smiled.

It was almost the end of the music festival. I must say it was the most fun I had with the others, but there was one more thing that Jihyo had in store that I wasn't prepared for.

"It's the final moments of the music festival and I hope you all had an enjoyable time." Just as she finished, the crowd cheered.
"But we have something special for someone."
The other girls pushed me and Momo to the stage. Momo gripped my hand.

"As you know Dahyun's true reveal was last year and everyone has mixed feelings. Then I noticed that all those comments became more supportive as it should."

Why are we having this speech?
She could tell my whole life story by now.

"On our prom day Dahyun disguised herself and everyone saw her as Yoon Mirae. It was quite hectic since she showed her face, but you all understand why. She wanted a normal life, right?"
Jihyo continued.

"So, for the last dance, we offer it to Kim Dahyun and her girlfriend Hirai Momo. This time your slow dance will not be interrupted." Jihyo smiled.
The crowd applauded and cheered us on.

I saw off stage that my parents were as well rooting me on.
"Momo." I said.
"Yes?"
"Would you like to dance with me?"
"I would love to."
